Dr. Sindhuja Sankaran

Social Psychologist
Dr. Sindhuja Sankaran is a social psychologist who graduated from Cardiff University, UK and has previously worked with Jagiellonian University and the University of Warsaw in Poland. She is a founding member of the psychology department at Sai University. She is an expert in the field of social cognition, specifically on cognitive and motivational processes predicting individual and group behavior. Dr. Sindhuja founded her NGO ‘Rethinking Refugees’ in 2018.

Karen Rebelo

Karen Rebelo is a Deputy Editor at BOOM Live, an independent digital journalism platform with a mission to fight misinformation. Her expertise lies in discovering misinformation and deception that spreads online in India. A handful of her pupils - of various age groups - have gone on to launch their own fact-checking newsrooms in regional Indian languages. Karen’s latest article is on the misuse of Generative AI to disseminate false information and inflict other harm.

Muralitharan Kasiviswanathan

Muralitharan is a distinguished journalist at The Collective Newsroom (BBC). With over two decades of experience, covering Tamil Nadu's politics, history, society, and cinema for media outlets like BBC Tamil, India Today - Tamil, NDTV - Hindu, and Puthiya Thalaimurai, his insightful reporting extends to Sri Lankan affairs, including pivotal events like the United Nations Human Rights Commission sessions in Geneva. He extends his expertise to the literary circle, with his notable translations including "A Sudra's Story" and "Scoop," alongside co-authoring the book "Katchatheevu”.

His investigative journalism on the implications of AI on politics in India and other South-East Asian countries has been ground-breaking, winning him, among other accolades, the South Asia Journalism Association Award in 2023. His work has been featured in renowned publications such as WIRED, BBC, Al Jazeera, and Rest of World.

Uru Paanar

Revivalist Music Collective
Uru Paanar is a Chennai based musical collective that creates uniquely refreshing musical works by playing contemporary rhythms with traditional instruments. Their custom-made instruments initiative draws inspiration from Sangam Literature like Tholkaappiyam. It aims to revive ancient Tamil Panns to create a captivating soundscape that pays homage to the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu.
