Theme: DEFERO

DEFERO - “I bring” in Latin.
‘Defero’ represents the idea of uniqueness in each of the individuals in our school’s community - what all of us bring to the table. Every student in our school has a heritage that they bring into the society, and ‘defero’ is a theme which brings these uniquenesses to light. It highlights themes of finding your identity and bringing it out, as in actually finding out what you bring to the table. The concept could also embrace collaboration between students and people from outside our community by letting other people get to know each other’s strengths or stories in general, which may encourage them to start new friendships. In terms of speeches, the theme opens opportunities for personal shine. It would give students and people from the outside world a chance to share their own personal experiences about identity, finding themselves, their own unexpected or hidden strengths, and just open the floodgates to getting to know each other better. The speakers could range from athletes unexpectedly finding a way in life through sport, to businessmen expressing their thoughts on success and its connection to identity, to just simple people talking about what it means to find your identity and your place in the world.

Shahar is the Chief Marketing Officer at Overwolf, the guild for in -game creators. With over 15 years of experience in the games and technology industry, he has founded and managed leading startups, including 7 Elements Studios, a game studio specialising in massive-multiplayer -online strategy games. Prior to his role at Overwolf, he worked as a creative producer and actor in Hollywood. Additionally, he is a former five-time national champion in Taekwondo.
