In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Andrea Morrison

Transformational Coach
Andrea Morrison is a Transformational Coach for Women in Business, TEDx speaker & writer. Her mission is to raise the natural confidence, resilience & well-being of women in enterprise, enabling them to realise their potential. She uses warm, compassionate insightful coaching, based on sound psychological principles and the teachings of the late Sydney Banks, that results in profound change and empowers her clients to create a life and business on their terms. Her approach has been borne out of her own personal quest and professional development culminating in gaining an MSc in Psychology. Overcoming failing schools to pursue a life-long ambition, recovering from burn out and walking away from a successful legal career as an Employment Barrister, she embarked on a personal journey, committed to understanding how we can reach our potential. What she found had such a profound positive effect on all aspects of her life that she is now passionate about sharing it with others.

Dan Archer says of the social care sector that you don’t know about adult social care unless you work in the sector or need care for a family member. A personal experience of the difficulty in securing a reliable home care service for his Nan gave Dan a drive to want to change adult social care for the better. Since starting his business Visiting Angels in 2018 it has grown to be the fifth largest franchised home care provider in the UK. He is a champion for workplace mental health having created Angel Care to address the specific challenges faced by a predominantly female workforce. By challenging received wisdom and loving their carers more Dan and his team are succeeding in a market with 152k vacancies in care and staff turnover which averages 60-70%. Dan has over 20 years’ experience in UK franchising and has been in the care sector since 2011.

Emma Brassington

Leadership Coach
Emma is a leadership coach, working with women in tech to help them increase their influence and impact to become the strong authentic leaders that the tech industry needs. Starting out as a mathematician, she embraced the logical world of software development, and has continued to remain connected to tech developments, working with researchers, academics and engineers throughout her career. Over the years she discovered the emotional connection that comes from working with people, helping them to develop and grow, which took her into management, business development and coaching. She is passionate about finding ways to bring more connection and emotion into the tech industries, knowing that this is what will lead to products and services which make the most difference to people’s lives.

Haddy Njie

Chair of Inclusive Equal Rights UK 3.0
Haddy Njie is resilient change maker, fearless, and intelligent. Haddy used her pain from a horrific racist experience to spearhead a city-wide motion to make York the first city in the North of England to be an anti-racist and inclusive city. In October 2021, the motion was unopposed and unanimously passed by all political party city councillors. Haddy is the founder of Inclusive Equal Rights UK and Speak Up Diversity. She is a visionary strategist, a problem-solver, and a published columnist. Haddy takes a different approach in addressing racial inequalities and racial injustices. In July 2023, her organisation developed a five-year anti-racism and inclusion strategy which was unanimously approved. Haddy and her team now move on to the full implementation of the action-plan. A force to be reckon with, Haddy’s ability to capture hearts and minds, her grace and compassion plays a big part in the success of making York an anti-racist and inclusive city

Indra Barathan

Functional Medicine Doctor
Dr Indra Barathan graduated from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1997 and worked as an NHS GP until 2015 when she opened her specialist functional medical practice, Dr Indra FMGP, to provide personalised functional medicine consultations. Indra now has one of the few multi-disciplinary practices in the UK and her team comprises of doctors, health coaches, nutritional therapists and a psychiatrist. Indra's passion is helping her patients learn how they have got to where they have got to and what they can do to help themselves shift towards vitality. She loves supporting patients with complex medical needs, hormonal problems and gut issues. Her mission is to educate the world about functional medicine through her practice, community membership and free webinars.

Ros Jones is a Yorkshire-based business coach and personal development expert, empowering people in business to thrive and live their best lives. Ros is fascinated by the impact of our habitual thoughts on the lives we lead and the results we achieve. Observing the behavioural patterns within her own family while growing up, Ros was inspired to write her first novel, “When I Was A Girl, " published in 2022. The book contains themes of domestic violence and abuse and since its publication, Ros has listened to hundreds of people sharing their stories of domestic abuse with her. This has inspired her to look for ways to raise awareness of this subject. Ros has organised conferences aimed at raising awareness of domestic abuse among business leaders and managers and has worked with the domestic abuse charity IDAS to create the “Yorkshire Businesses Against Domestic Abuse Charter.”

Tammy is also Founder of the National Facilitator Awards, Chair of Sunderland’s Children Service, Together for Children, She served as a Lay member on the House of Commons Committee for Standards for 6 years and is a Fellow of Westminster Abbey. Tammy has spent her career championing for change and is leading a mission to help people recognise that quality, values-led training has the power to transform teams, organisations and even lives.
