"Exploring the past, Shaping the future."

"Mneme" -which means 'memory' in Greek- is the faculty of the mind by which information is collected, encoded, stored, and retrieved when needed. It provides us with the ability to form thoughts & ideas, make decisions, develop our identity, and communicate.
Mneme defines time, along with our presence in it. It is our existential consciousness and the very foundation of our civilization.

In Greek mythology, Mnemosyne was the Goddess of Memory and mother of the nine Muses who were originally patron goddesses of poets of the oral tradition. Therefore, TEDxNTUA aspires to enhance the concept of “Ideas Worth Spreading” by bringing the importance of passing down knowledge, into the spotlight.

On the 13th of May 2023, TEDxNTUA will return to Athens Conservatoire and it will present its approach on important matters through the prism of memory, the fundamental cognitive function that shapes our identity, both collective and individual, even though we sometimes forget.
