Cory credits a few great Coaches and Pastors that have spoken into him and shaped him into the man he is today. It was these interactions with his mentors that introduced him into greater opportunities to serve others. Amongst a few of those experiences he spent time in Africa with Waterboys, a non profit to bring drinking water to communities in need, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and spoke at Gateway’s Men’s Summit in Israel. Cory is currently serving on the board of Majesty Outdoors, a non profit for fatherless children in South Texas.

David Lown

David Lown, a University of North Texas graduate, is a renowned saxophonist with recording credits alongside jazz legends like Jimmy Cobb and Dave Liebman. Since 2008, he has directed the jazz program at Carroll Senior High School in Southlake, Texas, with their ensembles being national finalist at the Essentially Ellington competition five times (2010, 2014, 2018, 2020, 2021), where they have won numerous Outstanding Soloist and Outstanding Section awards. Lown was named Carroll Senior High School's Teacher of the Year for 2013-2014, and in 2017 was named a Quarterfinalist for the 2018 GRAMMY Music Educator Award. He is a past president of the Texas Jazz Educators Association and is now on the organization’s board of directors. Lown now serves as a clinician and guest artist for Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Jasmine Cobb

Bereavement Scholar-Practitioner bridging the gap between practice, education and research with a focus on empowering individuals, organizations and communities about the importance of grief care. She was drawn to mental health as a social worker to serve as a therapist because life has taught her - it doesn’t matter what one’s societal status or background is, everyone is susceptible to loss and mental illness, which is one more thing that makes us all more alike than different. She values the diversity, autonomy and flexibility that sets social work apart as a profession because it's a recipe for leadership and innovation. Her overall goal is to shift the paradigm on how we approach grief care in all spaces.

Kamala Tamirisa

Cardiologist at TEXAS CARDIAC ARRHYTHMIA, PLLC
Dr. Tamirisa completed her training in Internal Medicine and served as Chief Resident at St. Louis University, St. Louis, Missouri. She then went on to complete her General Cardiology, Cardiac Electrophysiology, and Cardiac MRI fellowships at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. She subsequently joined a large cardiology group (ProMedica Physicians Cardiology). She was part of ProMedica Health System in Ohio where she served as the Director of the Arrhythmia clinic, ProMedica Heart Institute Board member & Heart Institute EP council member. She was also the Director of Education. Dr. Tamirisa’s special interests in Cardiac Electrophysiology include leadless technology, syncope, cardiac resynchronization therapy, advances in alternate site pacing & stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation. She also has interest in ablation of SVT & atrial fibrillation (cryoablation & radiofrequency), defibrillation and pacing technologies.

Laura Harris is a 3-time Emmy Award and Associated Press award-winning journalist who joined the NB 5 team in September 2018. Some highlights of Laura’s career at NBC 5 include covering the Tokyo Olympics in the summer of 2021. She also helped start the childhood literacy initiative at NBC 5 Reading With You. It’s an innovative program encouraging elementary-aged children to read at least one book week throughout the summer to help combat summer learning loss, often referred to as the "summer slide". She came to Dallas-Fort Worth from the ABC affiliate in Tampa, Florida. Some highlights of Laura’s career at ABC Action News included covering President Barack Obama’s visit to Cuba in 2016 and covering the Tampa Bay Rays while they played the Cuban National Team in Havana. She also covered Pope Francis’ historic visit to Cuba in 2015.

Logan Hamilton

Senior at Carroll High School
Logan Hamilton, a senior at Carroll Senior High School and a TEDx speaker this October, delved into the expansive field of biomedical engineering last year. He is in the baseball and barbecue team for the school. Getting interested and learning around early last year from a close friend, He was introduced into the world of biomedical engineering and was fortunate enough to learn some of the ins and outs of the field. Biomedical engineering, or the designing and creation of medical technologies for hospitals and the health care industry, takes in tens of billions of dollars each year, and with 1000s of different specialties and fields inside biomedical engineering, the possibilities for innovation are limitless. Taking what he has learned and experienced over these last couple of years, he will be sharing the story of how biomedical engineering is constantly evolving and how we, the residents of southlake, are affected every day by this field.

Surya Kasibhatla is a 10th grader at Rock Hill High School (Prosper ISD). His hobbies are playing and watching Cricket, making YouTube videos, playing music on the piano and computer programming. His story is about how he faced all odds against his by-birth condition i.e. Cerebral Palsy, to overcome his physical limitations and achieve what he wanted to achieve and how he underwent a philosophical change in the way he approached life.

Zubin Mehta

Sophomore at SMU
Zubin Mehta graduated from St. Mark’s School of Texas and is currently a sophomore at SMU, working on a pre-med and finance track. He has over four years of experience exploring and researching how some introverted leaders adapt to a world that favors extroversion. And is a podcast host for 180 degrees bringing leadership tips to the audience. He is committed to using his knowledge and skills to make a difference in the world. In his talk, Zubin Mehta will discuss living to thrive, not just to survive in a world that values extroverted traits. He will talk about why this is an ART, not a science, with a unique perspective on an important topic, leaving you with tips and simple ways to learn through personal experiences, insights, and research.
