Our Fall 2022 Salon will feature the theme "Potential Energy", meant to inspire students (and their love-hate relationship with physics).
We have an incredible lineup of student speakers, whose talks range from combatting mental health struggles, to start-up success, to how to redefine your limits. We are so excited to share their talks with the TEDx and Georgia Tech communities!

In addition to the talks, we will have interactive activities designed to connect you with other guests, organizing members, and speakers. Light snacks and refreshments will also be provided.

Caitlyn Haponik

Student
My name is Caitlyn Haponik and I am a current 3rd year at Georgia Tech studying Environmental Engineering and Economics. I am specifically interested in manufacturing and minimizing the environmental impact of production while maximizing profit. Additionally, I have a separate focus on mental health and nutritional education. I have struggled with an eating disorder throughout my young adulthood and am looking forward toward advocacy and education as I continue upon my journey to full recovery.

Jai Chawla

Student
Jai Chawla is a senior at Georgia Tech studying computer science. He is the founder and CTO of APEX, a healthcare company improving and expanding access to musculoskeletal care. Jai has done research in neuroscience and computer vision at HHMI. In his free time, he loves bouldering and watching sports.

Maya Torres

Student
Maya Torres (she/they) is a third-year undergraduate student at Georgia Tech majoring in Literature, Media, and Communication. When they aren't in the classroom, they are usually arguing about Shakespeare, listening excessively to Billy Joel, and going on walks with their rescue dog, Ringo.

Reed Blanchard

Student
Reed Blanchard is a novelist, Ironman triathlete, Guinness World Record holder, community-builder, and mechanical engineering student at Georgia Tech. He lives his life by the mantra 'seek discomfort', believing that the best way to grow is through pushing the boundaries of what he believes possible. On top of energizing his own life, he has committed his college experience to sharing what he has learned with others. The two GT programs he co-founded, Seek Discomfort Club and SEED FLO have impacted hundreds of students and faculty on campus. With the right mindset, anything is possible.
