In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Brynne Byars

Brynne is a sophomore studying engineering at SUU. She hopes to be at the front line of innovation someday through pursuing a career in biological engineering. In her free time, Brynne loves to paint, hike watch reality TV, and spend time with her friends and family, and learn new things.

Destiny Adams-Watt

Destiny is from Houston, Texas. She is a Dance Education major with a minor in Arts Administration and Strategic Communication at Southern Utah University. She is also a mentor at Life Quest Girls Academy. After college, she wants to get a master's degree in Business Administration and then open her own dance studio for underprivileged children in low income areas. Using her degrees, she wants to make the arts more equitable.

John Buckner

As a clinician and life coach, John Buckner, has specializes in helping others reach their life and business goals. He loves to work to help others overcome their anxiety, depression, trauma. Since 2005, Johnny has worked with many different populations including domestic violence, adolescent in residential and wilderness therapy settings, state of agencies, private practice, etc. He currently the Clinical Director of a wilderness therapy program and owns his own private practice. In his spare time, John enjoys reading and writing. He believes and lives Southern Utah University‘s motto “Learning Lives Forever.” He loves anything Harry Potter, enjoys reading to his kids, and going on weekly date with his lovely wife.

Mahala Sutherland

Mahala Sutherland is a proud member of the Navajo Nation and is from Winslow, Arizona. She currently attends Southern Utah University where she is majoring in sociology and minoring in psychology. Mahala is currently the director for the Diversity Council and hopes to continue advocating for underrepresented students in higher education. In her free time, she enjoys Jingle dress dancing, volunteering her free time with different clubs in the Center for Diversity and Inclusion, and playing video games.

Maris Graudins

Maris Graudins is a senior at Southern Utah University pursuing a degree in Communication with a minor in Management. Maris grew up in Latvia, but has lived in the US and Belgium throughout the years. Maris's passions include hockey, where he played his first professional season in the top Latvian league two years ago. He also enjoys producing short films about unique events to create lasting memories for his friends and family. After graduation, Maris intends to take advantage of every opportunity that arises, whatever or wherever that may be.
