In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Sofia Bekatorou

Sofia is a double Olympic medallist in sailing who has participated in 5 Olympic Games (Sydney 2000 - Rio 2016): 4 as an athlete, 1 as a coach. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and is a certified sailing coach and life coach. Sofia was the first woman Olympic Flag Bearer for Greece (Rio 2016) and also ignited the #metoo movement in Greece, speaking openly of her experience of abuse as an athlete. She is the mother of two children, Dimitris (13) and Georgia (10).

Thanassis Papadimitriou

Thanassis was born in 1965. He studied Business Administration at Imperial College, London, and thereafter joined the family business in meat imports and meat processing. He has participated, as a Greek contestant, in various parts of the world, in extreme adventure events such as Marlboro Adventure Team (1988), Camel Trophy (1991), Camel Trophy (1993) and more. At the age of 26 he realized that his love for traveling and adventure was more important, and he founded EY ZHN Greece SA, offering corporate travel and events services to the Greek and international markets. Today, 32 years later, EY ZHN GROUP comprises an awarded, services-oriented group of companies that offers travel, meetings, conferences, team-building, and international sports events - perhaps most notably, IronMan70.3Greece. He is married to Christina Chadzijiannika and the proud father of a son (22) and a daughter (20).
