In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

As an aspiring politician and activist, he can often be seen reading the news or discussing important societal issues. Piyali Mittal

Piyali Mittal, a junior in high school, has spent her high school experience searching for what she is passionate for. Having grown up in a very green family, however, she discovered her passion for the environment at a relatively young age. When she is not advocating for environmentally-friendly actions, however, she can be found at the airport, flying her plane. She is an avid pilot and enjoys spending weekends soaring through the air, or on the ground, learning the physics of flight. Outside of this time, she can be found reading, learning languages, or spending time outdoors, excited to encounter new things in every corner of life.

Riten Patel

As a junior at MTHS, Riten Patel is always facing challenges from heavy coursework. However, on nights where peers are awake past the graveyard shift, he still manages to sleep on time. As a year-round athlete, he’s always pushing himself physically. He still spends egregious amounts of time playing on his PlayStation.

Umair Siddiqui is a Junior at Monroe Township high school, and has done intensive research into the topic of urban design. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing sports, and learning new things in his free time.
