About this event

This event is intended to present new, vibrant and fresh ideas how we can transform library venues in order to change their roles and positions in the environment of contemporary big city, to gain new meaning and spirit of their work to bring innovations and new leaders over there, to do them real hearts of local communities. In addition we would like to introduce expectations of Russian civil society from libraries and their personnel

    Nikolay Pryanishnikov is an architect, member of the Union of the Moscow architects. Expert of Non for Profit Foundation «Pushkin library», a constant member of The round table of the Russian library Association «Library buildings: architecture, design, the space organization». The Head of the Department of Experimental Scientifiс Project Institute, Moscow.
  • Sergey Sereychik
    Sergey Sereychik is the Director of the St.-Petersburg Inter-District Central Library named after M. Lermontov
  • Boris Dubin
    Boris Dubin is a Russian sociologist, and a translator for English, French, Spanish, Latin American and Polish literature. Also he is a lecturer of sociology of culture at the Russian State University for the Humanities and the Moscow higher school of social and economic sciences. Dubin is the head of Department of Social and Political Researches at the Levada Center and the assistant to the editor-in-chief of the sociological journal Russian Public Opinion Herald. Dubin is the winner of different awards for his essays and translations. Chevalier of The Ordre national du Mérite (France).

  • Alexander Gavrilov
    Alexander Gavrilov is a cultural manager, the Head of Institute of the Book. Also he is the first program director of the Moscow International Open Book Festival, the first coordinator of the award "Debut", the editor-in-chief of the newspaper «Book review» in 2000-2010, the director of book festival in Novosibirsk. Since 2011 he has been conducting the program "Vslukh", devoted to modern poetry (in the broadcast the program comes out on channel "Culture"). The co-owner of Moscow cafes "August", «Sisters the Grimm», and the bookshops of "Dodo" and "Dzhabbervoki"
