About this event
The Big Picture
Live from Berlin, Germany
In this TEDxChange, we’ll take a step back and apply new perspectives to big picture issues. Why, as a global society, should we continue to invest in overseas development? How can we work across borders and political boundaries to bring about positive change? And what returns can we expect on our investments?
Convened by Melinda Gates
Speaking from Berlin: Chris Anderson, curator of the TED Conference; Jeff Chapin, a mechanical engineer and product designer for IDEO; Melinda Gates discussing family planning and how the ability to plan can change the lives of women and their families and improve whole societies; Sven Giegold, Member of the European Parliament and one of the founding members of Attac German, who will talk about the power of collective action.
Followed by an interactive discussion with Dean Julio Frenk (HSPH), Michael Chu (HBS), Jennifer Leaning (HSPH)
Moderated by Meghna Chakrabarti SM ’01 in EH and HPM, Co-Host, Radio Boston, WBUR
