In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Aisha Rahmanova-Khalil

Aisha is a passionate junior at ACS who will be talking about economic opportunities that can be found within an economic crisis. In the midst of the covid economic crisis, women in Jordan have found their own unique way to prosper and take advantage of a dire situation they did not consider so dire.

As we grow up, we start to form our sense of self worth and identity. The problem is that most of the time, we tend to compare ourselves to others. Anishka, a junior at ACS, will tackle the ideas that surround identity.

Finn Gleichmann

Student
Finn is a junior at ACS who is very passionate about politics. He believes that schools are trying to stay unpolitical to avoid conflict in the classroom. Finn will be talking about how this tactic has grave consequences that are already starting to show in the youth of today.

Imran Boshnak

Imran is a junior at ACS, and he will be revealing some of the obstacles he overcame through his journey with diabetes. He will also reveal how diabetes was a blessing in disguise as it helped him form a youth support group.

Jad Kelly

Jad is a freshman at ACS who will be talking about the art of being serious. His speech wants to leave the audience with a new idea on seriousness, and how taking things too seriously could worsen mental health and affect the choices we are making.

Jood, a junior at ACS, will be revealing the "beasts within beauty". Her speech aims to prove how a sole beauty standard does not exist.

Joop Sophia Hansen

Mental health issues are a struggle for a lot of people and in recent years there has been a clear link between teens' mental health and school. Joop will be talking about this correlation and the negative effects it has on students.

Laura Segre

Tired of hearing the same advice on how to keep a positive mindset? It might be time to look into how electrons can help you see the bigger picture. Laura, a senior at ACS, will be discussing why self help books need to look into quantum mechanics.

Mona Zeid Kilani

Student
Mona is a junior at ACS. She will introduce a wellness technique called “positive aging” and explain the importance of espousing this optimistic way of thinking in order to enjoy life more.

Oliver Schofield

Student
The weight of the world’s problems has caused our generation to lose hope, but we’ve made progress on those problems before. Oliver, a junior at ACS, will be introducing how as a society we can collectively fix those problems and restore that hope.
