About this event

On behalf of TED’s slogan ‘ideas worth spreading’, TEDxCSIA is an opportunity for students and faculties of Cheongshim International Academy (CSIA) to create influential presentations. TEDxCSIA is autonomously organized by students and faculties of CSIA under the motto “Easier, Happier, Together”, designed to release creative and unique ideas from CSIA to the world. TEDxCSIA encourage its participants to develop valuable ideas by escaping from the boundaries of everyday life–under which such ideas are passed by unnoticed.

Confirmed Speakers

  • Jongbeom Park
In his childhood, Park Jong-beom admired fictional detectives for their logical thinking and comprehensive knowledge. Now, he aspires to become an Evolutionary Medical Scientist and discover the human as a biological species. Such questions like “Why humans get disease?”, “Why people age?” remind people of a philosopher, who pursues an answer for process, not for the consequences. Park Jong-beom, the Junior Student in CSIA, is now standing on the very intersection between Biology and Medical Science.
  • San Lee
To some people, media is merely a tool. To Lee San, the senior student in CSIA, media is a way of expressing his passion and moreover a place to collaborate with others. Communication and connection with others are what media have brought to him. Now he asks: “How can media involve everyone?” With TEDxCSIA, Lee plans to search for answers in media and his life.
  • Youseok Kim
Everyone talks about the necessity creativity, yet no one knows either what creativity is or where is comes from. But one thing for sure, studying is not the answer. Mr.Kim You Seok claims that raising questions can be the answer. Through light, science, and theory of relativity he discovers how raising endless questions can lead to creative knowledge.
  • Johnson Carlton
Upon entering Harvard University, Mr. Carlton Leon Johnson becomes skeptical about pursuing secular ambitions in a world that would merely categorize him as either a “black lawyer”, “black doctor”, or a “black scientist”. Instead he decides to devote his life to seeking meaningful change through resolving the conflicts that plague this world. He tells of his way of bridging the gap between different beliefs and making the world into a more harmonious place.
