Aaron Goldberg

Aaron is a theoretical quantum optician who just received his PhD. from the University of Toronto and now works at the National Research Council of Canada. His research interests include the generation and manipulation of quantum coherence and its use in metrology. In his free time he likes to bake, bike, and read books.

Adrian Petterson

Adrian Petterson is a PhD student at the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto. With a Bachelor’s in Cognitive Science and a Master’s in User Experience Design, they are currently researching the interaction of marginalized people with technology, particularly within the disability community. Their work on the effect of manipulative design on people with cognitive disabilities has been presented at multiple conferences. Adrian is also the founder of the Accessibility Interests Working Group, an organization that works to break down barriers to education for students with disabilities and to have conversations with staff and faculty about inclusive education.

Atharv Agrawal

Atharv Agrawal is a 3rd-year Lester B. Pearson International Scholar at the University of Toronto. He is also the cofounder of “Different Boat, Same Storm.”

Avneet Ghotra

Avneet Ghotra specializes in Sustainability Management and Bioprocess R&D. She co-founded ALT TEX, a Toronto-based biomaterials startup, creating biodegradable polyester alternative re-engineered from food waste. Avneet leads ALT TEX’s R&D with 4 years of research experience in biogeochemistry.

Fei-Fei Liu

Dr. Fei-Fei Liu is the Chief of the Radiation Medicine Program at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, as well as the Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Toronto. Dr. Liu has over 200 peer-reviewed publications on these topics, and has filed three patents. Recently, her lab has shifted its focus to unraveling the mechanisms and identifying therapeutic strategies of radiation fibrosis and lymphedema; two important late normal tissue toxicities with significant functional morbidity.

Jeffrey Brook

Dr. Jeffrey Brook is an Assistant Professor in the Dalla Lana School of Public Health and Chemical Engineering at the University of Toronto. He is an expert on air quality and health and sits on the Research Committee of the Health Effects Institute, shaping research priorities supporting policy-relevant questions having global reach. He continues to conduct a range of environmental health research.

Rachel Ruttan

Rachel Ruttan holds a PhD in Management and Organizations from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Her research interests include compassion and prosocial behavior, values, and moral judgment. Specifically, she studies lapses in interpersonal compassion, as well as the potential pitfalls of organizations' attempts to appeal to morals and values, showing when and how "doing well by doing good" can backfire. Her research has been published in Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Organization Science, the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, and Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin. Her work has been profiled in The New York Times, NPR, and The Harvard Business Review.
