Bea McNaughtan

Bea is a born and raised Albertan and has lived in the south, central and northern portions of the province, and has a great appreciation of the beauty and diversity of Alberta’s landscape. Bea took the extended approach to her undergrad degree in science, mixing school with travel and has traveled on every continent except Antarctica and Africa. She financed her schooling and travel years by working as a tower lookout for the Alberta Forest Service, on lookouts north of Lac La Biche and Fort McMurray. When she started full time work at Jim Lore & Associates, one of Matrix’s original companies, she was about the 10th employee. Her first consulting job was to inspect a proposed railway right of way – by horseback in January. She became a contaminated site specialist for many years before completing an MBA and venturing into business analysis with a major oil company. She came back to environmental consulting about 10 years ago and has been fortunate to morph her career a couple of times, now leading the socio-economic assessment group, managing EIAs and working with the reclamation group.
