In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Becky is a lifelong learner who has been in the education sector for more than 3 decades. Her passion for education has enabled her to constantly compare and research the differences between Chinese and North American education systems. Now she runs an education consulting company, providing educational guidance for both parents and children.

Danielle Buchanan

Danielle is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and is also a Certified Professional Life Coach. She has specialized training in Grief, Suicide to Hope, Advanced Narrative Therapy, Life Span Integration Therapy, and Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. When not engaged with clients or furthering her therapeutic knowledge, Danielle enjoys spending time with friends and family, and can often be found enjoying the local trails by foot or by bike with her beloved dog Faith. Lisa Chan

Lisa is the founder of TrufElle, a company on a mission to enlighten cannabis-curious women to be liberated in their sexuality. Her drive and curiosity led her to experiment with cannabis, herbs, and chocolates as aphrodisiacs. She holds an MBA in Entrepreneurial Management from Sauder School of Business at UBC and owns established businesses in the field of real estate development and property management. She is passionate about inspiring young girls and women to own their worth and live their best life.

Su Xiang

Su Xiang is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice investigates culture and identity through installation, photography, video, painting, and drawing. She earned her B.A. in Visual Arts from the University of British Columbia in 2010 and has exhibited in both Canada and China.

Ying Liu

Ying Liu is the founder and President of the local community center ‘Chinese Village Club' in White Rock, BC. She is the founder of CCS Learning Center and first English-Mandarin independent school, ‘Newbridge Academy’. Ying’s aim is to help new immigrants, encourage communication, and bring the community together through shared cross-cultural experiences.
