Achala Green

Achala Green is a poet actively involved in running community poetry events since 2015. They run these events as a way to foster community participation and encourage newcomers to perform and gain confidence within themselves. They first started community poetry nights at "Lentil As Anything" in Sydney - where they had been volunteering there for some time. Lentil as anything is an event to restore our faith in the essential goodness of humanity and the wholesome nature of community and aligns perfectly with Achala’s ethos of empowering communities and taught them the power of community participation.

Cyndi Bemel

Storyteller, Artist, and Photographer
Always evolving, the body of my work is fueled by the challenge of the moment. The movement of a bubble before the pop… The reflection, the manifestation of light, the depth of field, I thrive in these confines and continue searching beyond the boundaries. Photography is a reflection of a moment captured in time. Exploring the limitations and challenges of photography has led me to the studio, a place to stretch myself. Creating reflections from scratch has pushed me to find new subjects which are dynamic yet still under my control. A journey from seizing the moment to creating the moment. Cyndi Bemel was born in Denver, Colorado. She studied at The Evergreen State College, University of Washington and The American Film Institute. She lives and works in South Pasadena, California.
