Countdown is a global initiative to accelerate solutions to the climate crisis. TEDx VIT Vellore is honoured to invite you to speak at TEDx Countdown an independently organized TED event happening in November 2020, a free live virtual event featuring leading thinkers and doers. This is the moment to act, and we look forward to outline what a healthy, abundant, zero-emission future can look like—turning ideas into action. The event will combine TED's signature blend of actionable and research-backed ideas, cutting-edge science, and moments of wonder and inspiration. Leading thinkers and doers will share what the transition to a healthy, abundant, net-zero carbon future can look like, examples of real progress underway, and reasons why this moment is the time to act. Our goal is to identify the bold solutions that can be activated when people break out of their silos and rise to the challenge. Countdown seeks to answer five fundamental, interconnected questions that help inform a blueprint for a cleaner future-Energy, Transport, Materials, Food, Nature.

Mr. Ganesh Kumar Subramanian is the Co-founder and Operation Lead of Kabadiwalla Connect, a startup redefining waste management by leveraging data and technology to help segregate and recycle non-biodegradable waste. He is also a Mechatronics Engineer who enjoys coding. A self-taught programmer, he primarily focuses on Front End Development. His research interests vary from UI/UX design to Virtual Reality, and strongly believes that gestural/natural user interfaces are the future of Human-Computer Interaction.

Mr Gaurav Khatri, the route to market analyst for Castrol who is also a low carbon advocate. Mr Khatri has been revolutionary in trying to help castrol become a more sustainable company and reaching its goal of becoming a net zero company by 2050. He has done his engineering from University Institute of Technology RGPV and MBA from Symbiosis Center For Management and Human Resource Development. He is also a part of the prestigious One Young World team which is a global summit for young leaders and has ben trying to engage his colleagues in trying to reduce carbon emissions.
