In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Aonghus Kelly is an Irish lawyer from Galway who has lived and worked in 9 countries. Since 2006 he has been studying and working on issues related to human rights, war crimes and organised crime in Iraq, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Cambodia, Libya and Tunisia, he has investigated and prosecuted war criminals, migrant smugglers, organ traffickers and terrorists, he has defended those accused of crimes against humanity and acted for those tortured and murdered. He now works on rule of law and human rights issues.

Billy O'Reilly

Billy O’Reilly is a 23 year old co-founder of Good Grub. Growing up with an older brother, with down syndrome, his family has always been sensitive to other’s struggles and challenges. A family of entrepreneurs, their dinner conversations are comparable to dragons den, as ideas are shared, criticised and formed. The combination of both of these factors has formed a unique environment catering to social entrepreneurship, a concept Billy is passionate about, even writing his thesis on a similar topic. It is from this environment that the genesis for Good Grub was established.

Chloe Carey is a 19 year old university student, who is currently studying sociology and criminology at Maynooth University. In the past four years her interest in spoken word poetry has grown. During her talk she will perform an original poem entitled “The Serial Burglar, which details her experiences with body image issues and body dysmorphia.

Corry de Jongh was born in Holland and studied studying clinical psychology. After living in Latin America, she worked as a consultant with refugees in Holland. Corry has been living In Dublin for over 40 years where she acts as both a clinical psychologist and family psychotherapist, She has a particular interest in ageing and dying and actively promotes discussion about end of-life issues.

Dee Keogh

Dee Keogh is a committed and vocal advocate of social and equality issues and has delivered a number of self-improvement initiatives, including the Equality for Women Measure. A facilitator of the STEPS personal and professional development course, addiction counsellor, psychotherapist and mentor. Dee is a writer of polemical drama, social fiction and gender discourse, and is currently finalizing a number of scripts, and has completed her debut show, 'Why I Haven't Met Oprah Yet.

Judith Ashton has been working with massage and touch for the last 40 years. Her main interest being the emotional effects of touch as a powerful healing tool. She has a wealth of experience in this area and has trained many nurses and carers both here and abroad .She has worked with many cancer support services and people at the end of life.She is also a psychotherapist,funeral celebrant and teacher of meditation.

Shari McDaid

Chief Executive Officer & Director

Shari McDaid was Chief Executive Officer of Mental Health Reform, the Irish national coalition advocating for reform of the mental health system, from 2013-2020. In this role, she advised successive Ministers of State for Mental Health and senior civil servants on solutions to improving mental health and related services. She has been a member of numerous government advisory committees and has regularly appeared in broadcast and print media.
