About this event
This event organized by the School of Medicine at UCC will focus on simulation in health care education. Three speakers from diverse academic backgrounds of medicine, engineering and the humanities will discuss and share their views on this increasingly important area in health care education.

Richard Satava, MD, FACS, is Professor of Surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center, and Senior Science Advisor at the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command in Ft. Detrick, MD. -
Padraig Cantillon-Murphy PhD
Padraig is a lecturer in the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. His research group at UCC explores the application of electromagnetics to biomedical problems: BIOELECTROMAGNETICS. His current research interests include magnetic self-assembly, MRI and minimally-invasive surgery -
Marian McCarthy PhD
Marian is Programme Coordinator for the Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and Masters in Teaching and Learning at UCC.Marian’s interests include the role of the Arts in Education and she has a particular interest in Drama and Theatre in Education, Applied Drama/Theatre, the Visual Arts and Mime and Dance as ways of enhancing pedagogy and the artistic medium in its own right.
