Theme: Foster Our Future

This event occurred on
May 14, 2020
Los Angeles, California
United States

Who are the faces of adults who went through foster care? What is it like to be a foster care parent? How do you fund the movement of protecting our children?
In partnership with Faith Foster Families Network (3FN), we will be answering these questions and more. Hear from professionals who were formerly in foster care, foster care parents, and funders.
We can all play a part in providing resources to children, youth, and families. Hear real stories, get the facts, learn how you can be involved as a parent, a mentor, a guest speaker, a funder.

Jessica Chandler

Social Worker, Former Foster Youth
Jessica was in the foster care system from ages 12 - 18. But rather than allow that negative experience to govern the rest of her life, she was determined to become a social worker to ignite change for others—which would also mean challenging herself. For the past five years, Jessica has been a Children’s Social Worker with the Department of Child and Family Services in Los Angeles. Jessica has been and continues to be an advocate on the national stage for children and families involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.
