In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Beatriz Antunes

SWHS Student

Beatriz Antunes is a sophomore at South Warren High School with a love for learning. Her hobbies include spending time with friends and family and helping the community. She stays involved in many school clubs, but her favorite club is Beta Club. Through this club, she has been able to help both the community inside and outside of her school. She loves these experiences because she is able to meet people from all around the world. She is passionate about equality and helping people feel like they belong. In the future, she plans on continuing to spread her passion for helping others by speaking publicly about it and getting others involved.

Caiden Figlioli

SWHS Student

Caiden Figlioli is a junior at South Warren High School. He attends multiple Advanced Placement and honors classes. His athletics are just as crucial as his academics while he enjoys playing on the lacrosse team. He has a passion for creating and building relationships with people from all different regions around the world in order to develop new perspectives of different cultural aspects. Some other passions of his include skateboarding, drawing, and camping. Caiden loves to hike mountains in California with his father and immerse himself in the beauty of nature. He aspires to go to college in order to major in business or chemical engineering. After graduating, he wants to take a trip to explore the world and document his experiences with all kinds of people.

Giavanna Figlioli

Giavanna (Gia) Figlioli is a senior at South Warren High School. Her interests include collecting vintage records, dabbling in photography, and hanging out with her cats. She is a third year varsity swimmer for the South Warren Swim and Dive Team. Gia enjoys learning about all things science and would like to pursue a college degree and career in science. She plans on eventually pursuing a doctorate in her chosen field. She loves to collect and care for plants, and she is always ready to learn more about her passions and the world around her.

Shehab Mansour

SWHS Student

Shehab Mansour is a senior at South Warren Highschool. He enjoys a variety of challenging physical activities including Soccer, Basketball, and Wrestling. When Shehab attended high school in Canada, he was captain of the boy’s soccer and basketball teams, encouraging his teammates to succeed. In his spare time, Shehab enjoys going on walks, fishing, and playing outdoor sports. He has an interest in environmental preservation, winning the Jack Leslie Youth Environmental Grant in Canada. Shehab strives to excel in real estate, economics, and business-related endeavours in the coming years and he currently spends time researching to expand his portfolio. Ever since the age of 4, he has spent countless hours travelling to different countries around the world, meeting new people, and trying new things. Shehab is focused on his goals and believes that anyone can achieve what they put their mind towards.
