In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ayn Bernos

Ayn Bernos is a content creator, entrepreneur, and the proud morena behind Morena the Label, a brand that celebrates sun-kissed skin and challenges colorism in the Philippines. She is one-half of the Camp Confidence Radio podcast, and is known as Ayn Pero Tagalog on TikTok, where she produces bite-sized English lessons that aim to make language learning a little less intimidating for beginners. Ayn is an advocate for women empowerment, self-development, and education.

Dr. Ronald Del Castillo

Dr. Ronald Del Castillo is trained as a clinical psychologist with expertise in public mental health and social policy. He was an associate professor at the College of Public Health at UP Manila. He was trained at Fordham, Palo Alto University, Stanford, Harvard, Tufts, UCLA, King's College London, and the National University of Singapore. He regularly writes about health, culture, policy, and social media on Rappler and the Philippine Daily Inquirer. Dr. Del Castillo is a member of the Philippine-American Academy of Science and Engineering and is a fellow of the UK Royal Society for Public Health.

Ea Torrado

Ea Torrado is a Filipina artist-healer whose medicine blends the use of body, voice, ritual and storytelling. She creates original contemporary performance rituals that engage both lyrically and viscerally with the politics of identity, society, sexuality, collective rage, grief and spirituality. She is also the founder of Daloy, a guided and free-form movement practice originated and developed in the Philippines, that many people find liberating, transformative and healing. She is also a certified Reiki Master and Yoga Teacher.

Gary Valenciano

For the past 38 years, the incomparable Gary Valenciano, a multi-awarded Filipino-Puerto Rican inspirational singer-songwriter, musician, film actor, television host/performer, music producer, and arranger, has enthralled his audiences with his breathtaking performances and groundbreaking recordings. In his earlier years, he starred as a lead actor in 14 films and various television movies, even earning nominations and awards for Best Actor. Possessing superb talents like the dancing skills of Michael Jackson and Bruno Mars and the vocal dexterity of Brian McKnight and Al Jarreau, he is perhaps the most-awarded male recording artist in the Philippines and has produced some of the best live concerts as well.

Herbert Hernandez

He plays guitar after-hours for the nationally renowned bands 6cyclemind and Moonstar88. He composed one of the country's most-streamed songs 'Migraine,' which has scored 70 million plays, and counting. During the day, he finds himself in advertising, having chalked up 18 years in the industry--and multiple wins in Cannes, the Clios, One Show, LIA, Spikes Asia, ADFEST, AD STARS, and the APAC Effies. Herbert co-founded the ideas agency GIGIL. Only 3 years old, GIGIL has already been declared by Campaign AOY as Philippines Independent Agency of the Year, and Philippines Creative Agency of the Year--a major feat, as it's the first time in the show's history that an indie agency conquered the country’s creative agency of the year category, a battleground traditionally dominated by multinationals. More importantly, GIGIL won a gold in the APAC Effies in 2020, effectively making it the Philippines' most effective creative agency, and the most effective independent agency in Asia. Herbert has been named by the regional publication Campaign to its list of '40 Under 40,' celebrating his achievements as an up-and-coming leader in marketing, media and communications in the whole Asia Pacific.

Hya Bendaña

Reycel Hyacenth Bendaña graduated as the 2019 Valedictorian and University Student Council President from the Ateneo de Manila University. She was recognized as the youngest bridging leadership cohort of the Asian Institute of Management in 2017, Most Outstanding Jose Rizal Model Student of the Philippines in 2018, and Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (NCR) in 2019.Angered by the injustice towards our transport workers and the high risk of covid transmission in public transportation, Hya, and her friends formed the Move As One Coalition. In just 5 months, the coalition, composed of 140 organizations and more than 77,000 advocates, is recognized by decision-makers as the voice of the Filipino people in demanding a safer, more inclusive, and more humane public transportation system in the Philippines. Move As One was also successful in funding bike lanes and service contracting in the GAA 2021 with P7 billion allocation. She currently champions the abolishment of the boundary system and a justice-oriented transition that ensures that jeepney drivers, like her father, are not left behind as we modernize our transportation system. She currently works with We Solve Philippines, a development consulting organization that creates well-scoped spaces for systemic action and collective impact. Some of their initiatives include financing better public health solutions to rural areas, powering data for critical policy reforms, and building access to social services for the most vulnerable.

Mark Averilla

Mark Averilla, also known as Macoy Dubs, is a content creator and educator. He has taken on the internet by storm with the help of his online persona, Auntie Julie. Mark has made use of his platform by helping bring about discussion and awareness on various progressive topics such as sex education and other current affairs. Through his content, Mark has allowed for healthy discourse to be made possible, regarding conversations that are typically difficult to discuss. He has shared his knowledge on relevant and timely topics. Apart from his content creation online, he has also worked on various social media work. Mark has also been a professor in Colegio de San Juan de Letran, his alma mater.

Miggy Azurin

Miggy Azurin is a strategist, public speaker, and educator. He is the managing partner of Huskee Digital. Huskee Digital is an inbound marketing agency that focuses on creating human and helpful brands. Their specializations include content marketing, media buying, lead generation, and e-commerce optimization. They are also a Certified Agency Partner of HubSpot. He is a graduate of Ateneo de Manila University, with a major in Management and a minor in International Business. Miggy has since become a lecturer at his alma mater working under the Leadership and Strategy department, where he teaches management, leadership, and communicating across cultures. He is passionate about his work in education, as he finds this to be a meaningful experience that allows him to further learn and grow.

Stella Quimbo

Dr. Stella Luz A. Quimbo is the duly elected Representative of the 2nd District of Marikina City and Deputy Minority Leader of the 18th Philippine Congress. She is an academician who served as Professor and Department Chair of the University of the Philippines School of Economics.
