In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Adam Biddle

CEO and Co-Founder of GHO5T
Adam Biddle has been at the forefront of media since 2009, launching the first-ever social agency for celebrities. In 2011, he was part of a small team that set up theAudience (the WME x Sean Parker social media agency) in the UK, going on to become the Managing Director of Vice Media Groups in-house social media agency, Edition. He is now the CEO and co-founder of GH05T, a social media and content production agency based in East London. Over the past 10 years, Adam has worked with over 500 Brands, celebrities, entertainment properties, sports events, HNWI and heads of states. He doesn’t use social media, or attend marketing events, and this will be his first public talk on the subject of social media.

Alastair Robertson

Alastair Robertson is a continuous improvement & automation leader for the insurance giant Zurich. He started his career answering customer calls in Glasgow. Over the last 14 years, he has been fortunate enough to work in four different continents and influence a wide breadth of change. When automation began to impact his workplace and the world around him, Alastair made the decision to pivot his career plans with a focus on harnessing new technology and the benefits it could bring. Since then, he has grown his automation and continuous development team by upskilling 30 colleagues from other areas of the business. More than 100 automated processes have been implemented in just 2 years/months, but more importantly he has helped turn the mindset of a century-old insurer into a company on the cutting edge of workplace automation.

Baguiasri Mandane

Specialist Oncology Pharmacist at Guys and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust
Baguiasri Mandane, MRPharmS, is a Specialist Oncology Pharmacist at the Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Mandane also serves as a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, British Society for Haematology, British Oncology Pharmacy Association and Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management. As a graduate research envoy from the National Institute for Health Research, she also sits on a variety of professional committees and national boards. Mandane also regularly publishes in open access peer-reviewed scientific and medical journals.

Dr. J Harrison

Harbinger of Change Thoughtworks
Out as Non-Binary GenderQueer for over 10 years, Dr J has been bringing queer theory (with a slice of humour) into the tech space, building on ThoughtWorks’ dedication to inclusivity and intersectionality. Dr J takes a strategic view of cultural change in Technology through a few lenses, notably queer theory. This combines well with their years of experience using agile processes to build software and a talent for really understanding clients – looking at the problems they are solving and how to make great teams to deliver real value. Their passion? How you can do things better with just simple changes – bringing their Service Design thinking into both the Technology and the Diversity and Inclusion spaces. James Poetzscher

Founder of Greenhouse Maps/Co-Founder of CheckMate Covid
James Poetzscher is a 17-year-old high school student interested in air pollution and climate change. He has authored four research papers in these areas, two of which are currently in peer-review for prestigious journals. He has mapped the global decline in air pollution on behalf of the European Environmental Bureau and his maps were published in media outlets including the BBC, Reuters and more. He’s built a global inventory of maps which he displayed on his website greeenhousemaps.com. He’s also built an air quality data portal, published by notable environmental organizations, and written articles for major media outlets. James hopes to inspire others, especially young people, to take collective action in tackling air pollution and climate change, two century-defining issues.

Jodi Scholes

Over the last 25 years, Jodi Scholes has put her hands on over 20,000 bodies. As a Licensed Massage Therapist, she has traveled with professional football team, DC United, from Washington DC. She has travelled with US Track & Field to do massage therapy at two World Championships. As an Adjunct Faculty at Northern Virginia Community College she taught massage students an ancient secret, now she brings that to you: Physical pain often has its roots in mental and emotional trauma.

Shola West is a former digital marketing apprentice and now full-time employee at one of the fastest tech start-ups in Europe, Multiverse. In addition to her primary role, she proactively advocates for youth diversity as seen on the likes of BBC Radio 1. She is also the founder of a youth community platform called Youth Unlocked which aims to support young professionals from underprivileged backgrounds to thrive in their early careers. Shola is incredibly driven and passionate about changing the narrative for young people across the UK.
