In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Abi Kumar

Abi Kumar is a student at the Texas Academy of Mathematics, and hoping to pursue a career in medicine. She is passionate about activism in all of it’s forms, education, and spends most of her time reading in her free time.

Ananya Choudhary

Ananya Choudhary is an incoming freshman at the University of Texas, Austin pursuing a double major in International Relations and Economics. She was President of her school's Business Organization and founded an app helping address the growing food insecurity crisis. Ananya enjoys engaging in discourse surrounding social change and justice, and loves to do so through platforms like Speech and Debate, and Journalism; her goal being to use her voice to raise awareness on issues important to her.

Kanza Jafri

Kanza is currently a student at the University of North Texas majoring in Consumer Experience Management. She hopes to pursue law school after her bachelors. She enjoys public speaking and empowering others, and can make anything feel like an adventure.

Nathaniel Brown

Hi! My name is Nathaniel Brown, and I’m from Bridgeport, Texas. I’ve had exposure to lots of different teenage jobs, like working at Starbucks, performing lawn maintenance, and taking care of sheep. I currently attend the Texas Academy of Math and Science (TAMS) program at UNT.

Pranoy Dutta

Pranoy Dutta is a rising senior at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science. Pranoy does research in computer science and is interested in all things relating to privacy. You’ll find him reading books and working on proofs in his free time.

Puranjay Shori is currently a student at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science, in Denton, Texas. Puranjay has an interest in History, Biology, and Physics, and also enjoys composing and playing music.

Rhythm Garg

When this talk was live-streamed, Rhythm Garg was a high school senior at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (TAMS). He will be attending Stanford University this Fall (assuming school starts by then!) to study computer science. Having acquired a strong background in STEM through science fairs, math competitions, and hackathons in high school, Rhythm is hoping to help innovate in the tech industry and push forth the cutting-edge.

Yashvini Deva

Yashvini Deva is a senior at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science. At TAMS, she is president of the Speech and Debate and Politics club, where she works with her peers to raise awareness about important issues.
