Berry Yan

High school student
Berry Yan is a high school senior, as well as a former World Scholars Cup debate Champion, musical theatre aficionado, and foodie. Alongside her academic achievements, Berry is the Musical Director for her high school's production of "Bring It On: The Musical" this year.

Jerwin Bautista

Digital Marketing Coordinator
Jerwin Bautista is a digital marketing professional with a penchant for coffee and coffee-related topics. With over 5 years of experience working with small businesses and entrepreneurs, he's helped and witnessed several brands launch and create an impact in the local community. He's also co-hosted several Limitless Panel talks, where he chats with aspiring youth, entrepreneurs, and passionate individuals. He was also chosen to be a keynote speaker for a local branding and marketing event, where he spoke to aspiring entrepreneurs on how to develop their brand. He also hosted a workshop called Influence by Truth, where he taught the basics of personal branding and surviving in an "influencer-lifestyle" world. Jerwin aspires to foster a community where learning is endless and strives to share this knowledge with those around him.

Jess Tang

Program Co-Director + Outreach & Partnerships Lead at Shad UBC
Jess Tang is a passionate mentor and coach, who believes that there is magic created when you bring people together and give them permission to show up authentically for themselves and others. As the Program Director of Shad UBC for the past 7 years, her goal is to help exceptional youth feel that spark of magic and leave the program as empowered change-makers and leaders. She is obsessed with being a cheerleader for those willing to chase big goals and believes everyone should know what it feels like to have someone in their corner. She completed her Bachelor of Commerce from UBC’s Sauder School of Business, serves on the Board for Wrestling Canada Lutte, and works as the Outreach & Partnerships Lead for Shad Canada.

Kimberley Venn

Business Analyst
Kimberley Venn is an enthusiastic fifth-year student at the Beedie School of Business concentrating in Marketing, Operations, Analytics, and Innovation. She is passionate about figuring how to solve complex problems and has explored this interest in representing SFU as an international case competitor. After graduating, she is excited to begin her career solving complex problems as the first student from SFU to be hired to work as a Business Analyst with McKinsey and Company.

Maya Tharp

High school student
Maya Tharp is a grade 11 student who is passionate about student wellness and environmental sustainability. She has presented at the Youth Philanthropy Initiative finals and debated in front of over 1000 people in the Netherlands. In her little free time, she likes to play the drums and volunteer.

Peter Peng

High school student
Peter Peng is a grade 12 student with a talent in public speaking. He is also an instructor in his Cadet program, where he gives lessons to younger members on a bi-weekly basis and received a Top Instructor Award for his teaching.
