In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Alexandre Ashkir

Alexandre Ashkir is a second year Marianopolis College student in Global Studies and International Affairs. With a passion for debate and new ideas, Alex has founded a college club focused on promoting discourse and diversity of ideas, as well as participated in Model UN for four years. Other than that, he enjoys cooking, camping, and history.

Amanda Morrone

Amanda Morrone is a student from Marianopolis College in health science. Her interests are not just limited to health science, as she is passionate about music, social justice, and politics as well. She aspires to study and practice medicine, and eventually lead a life in politics.

Farah Aboasali

Farah is intrigued by the psychology of identity and how it affects human expression and interection. She spends her time researching and then communicating the most effective way in which to take in the world around us while growing into more aware versions of ourselves.

Lina Li

Lina Li is a first year Marianopolis Arts and Sciences student who loves music, books and crossword puzzles. Apart from that, when she's not randomly staring at things in a state of existential dread, she's probably staring at memes in a state of existential dread.

Michael Chalkhoun

Michael Chalkhoun is a student who is constantly looking for new ways to grow as a person and positively impact others. Whether it be coaching, model UN, student government, or running his own tutoring business, Michael’s hands are always full. Nevertheless, he is dedicated to putting his full effort and attention into everything he does. Although Michael is only 19 years old, he hopes to share some insight on how to live your life in a way that will guarantee you seize the opportunities in front of you and achieve your goals.

Ricky Liu

Ricky has been interested in cities and the way they work since he was 10, seething imaginary maps and designing imaginary neighbourhoods on printer paper. He currently studies in Software Engineering, and likes to be distracted by learning everything except what he's supposed to know.
