In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Dingdong Novenario

Ricardo “Dingdong” Novenario describes himself as a multi-hyphenate, having forayed into playwriting, acting, fitness instruction, and IT consulting. An alumnus of PSHS-MC’s Batch 1996, Dingdong graduated with a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering (Cum Laude) from UP - Diliman before going on to study playwriting through various local workshops alongside other playwrights of the organization The Writer’s Bloc. Some of his original one-act plays (Kafatiran, The Bride and the Bachelor, Nothing But Dreams) have since been produced through The Virgin Labfest at CCP, an annual laboratory festival of works from emerging playwrights. Notably, Dingdong also penned the hit musical Ang Huling El Bimbo, which featured a lush score of Eraserheads songs and achieved major commercial success after its premiere in 2018.

Ericka Aala

Before her graduation from Philippine Science High School last May 2019, she served as one of the key students who initiated #BOTtledUp, a movement that fought for the justice of batchmates who were victims of sexual harassment and cybercrime, and the accountability of the perpetrators and the Board of Trustees. Today, Ericka is a freshman studying Life Science at Ateneo de Manila University. As an advocate for women's empowerment who believes that this continuous societal battle has yet to be won, Ericka hopes that she, along with her fellow organizers can one day revive #BottledUp to reach more communities and provide a voice for many more women.

Jennette Cajucom

Jen Cajucom is Marketing In Asia's Editor for the Philippines, a digital marketing and CEO branding strategist, and the founder of The Digital Commuter. Her philosophy on marketing and business revolves around the human-centered approach. She believes that startups and companies must include humans in their narratives to success, encouraging authenticity and connections in their strategies. Whether she is writing articles for Marketing In Asia, giving talks in TEDx events, appearing in podcasts such as The Tao of Self Confidence or teaching through The Digital Commuter, she emphasizes the human experience and elevates them into a powerful message of growth and sustainability.

Jon Bonifacio

Jon Bonifacio is not afraid to speak his mind regarding social issues in the country. An alumnus of Philippine Science High School and the University of the Philippines - Diliman, he is a member of Agham Youth and a founder of Science and Technology Editors League of the Philippines (SENTINEL), both of which aim to develop science and technology in the country to better serve the Filipino people. As a student activist, Jon stood side-by-side with NutriAsia employees and was among the 19 student leaders and workers who were arrested at the NutriAsia picket line last July 30, 2018. His involvement did not stop there, as he continues to fight for political justice as well as other issues relating to education and the environment.

Karen Ibasco

Karen Ibasco started advocating for energy conservation when she won Miss Earth Philippines in 2017. After becoming Miss Earth 2017, the scope of her advocacy widened as she participated in climate change conferences, delivered environmental talks, and educated students internationally. She has also joined non-government organizations including Conservation of Ocean’s Resources and Aquatic Life (CORAL), Plastic Solutions, and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines. She is the youth ambassador of the Climate Change Commission. Last September, she represented the Philippines as the first youth ambassador in the Youth Climate Summit held in the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Marla Abao

As a founding member and the current Manila Head and Incorporator for Women in Technology (WiTech), Marla Abao advocates for women empowerment, especially in the field of technology. She is an alumna of Philippine Science High School’s Class of 2018, a former student council president, and currently studies Industrial Engineering at the University of the Philippines - Diliman.
