In an ever increasingly complex world, the challenges facing civil society and the individual himself have become ever more interconnected and necessitate the integrated efforts and engagement across all sectors in order to build viable solutions for the future.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local self organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. What does it mean to look beyond? To open the conceptual boxes, unravelling the far reaching limits of our perception. At beyond, the continent of reality, there are oceans of ideas. We hope to share some of these ideas with our audience to spark deep discussions and connections within a small group, by a combination of TED talk videos and live speakers.To imagine the future in terms of innovation means, most fundamentally, to imagine change in terms of new ideas, and to think of life as an array of individual experiments and choices. To the popular mind, this sensational advance conveys the impression of single inventions, but in reality it is an art, the successful practice of which involves the employment of great many discoveries and improvements. Progress, in this sense, is made possible by improvements in our knowledge and understanding, our abilities, our circumstances, our institutions, our technology, and our control over nature and chance. There is of course always a danger that we may misuse our newfound powers, or even that they might corrupt us; but there are also reasons to believe that we will learn to use them responsibly, and that they will enhance our lives and improve our world.This anthropology of innovation is founded in a recognition of the intricacy and volatility of human life, and in the sense that both good and bad ideas may emerge from wholly unexpected sources, so that in thinking about the future we must above all be prepared for the unexpected.
What characterises an individual’s distinctive potential is his or her active engagement in the achievement of the inconceivable. Extraordinary is not just defined as exception from the prevailing rule or order, rather what one can do to look beyond and push past the limits of
conventional perception. It is the capability to harness ones self in full and true potentiality and to strive with perseverance. In the famous words of Theodore Roosevelt ~ “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”

Deeya Bajaj

MOUNTAINEER
Deeya Suzannah Bajaj is an adventurer, mountaineer and explorer. Amongst her various achievements, Deeya has successfully climbed Mt Everest, Mt Aconcagua (highest peak in South America), Mt Vinson (highest peak in Antarctica), Mt. Kilimanjaro (highest peak in Africa), Mt. Elbrus (highest peak in Russia). Deeya has been felicitated with the Rotary Club Shreyas Award, the TIE Aspire Young Achievers Award-‘In appreciation of unrivalled contributions as a role model for the Youth of India’ and the 'Meri Dilli Award' in the category of Adventure sports. She was also given the title of 'Adventurer of the Year' by the Adventure Tour Operators Association Of India in 2012. Deeya used her cross country skiing expedition to raise funds to start a girl’s wing at a children’s home in Haridwar in 2012. She has since been associated with the cause. The home currently boards and educates 40 girls whose parents have leprosy.

Manish Sharma

DIRECTOR AND HEAD OF R&D STRATEGY SAMSUNG
Manish Sharma is Director, Head R&D Strategy at Samsung R&D Institute Delhi. His main research interests include Machine Learning and AI. Prior to SRI Delhi, Dr. Sharma worked at Pitney Bowes India on Deep Learning for satellite imaging, and also at Synopsis India on high performance computing with GPU/hybrid architectures. Dr Sharma was an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at IIT Delhi during 2006-2013, and was a Research Scientist at HP Research Labs USA during 2000-2006. He did his MS and PhD from Stanford University and B.Tech.(Hons.) From IIT Kharagpur. He has authored more than 30 papers and has been granted 114 US and 87 international patents.

Neha Sinha

CONSERVATION BIOLOGIST AND AUTHOR
Neha Sinha is a conservation biologist and an author.She works with the Bombay Natural History Society, a scientific and conservation organisation. She runs conservation field projects in Andhra Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur, working on wetland birds. She believes all the magic of the world is in single bird that crosses mountains to come to a garden or lake near you. She is also a nature author and artist and writes for Times of India, The Hindu, BloombergQuint, and others. In 2017, she received the ‘Wildlife Service’ Award from Sanctuary Asia. She works as a reviewer for the Economic and Political Weekly and Current Science journal. Her first book on Indian wildlife is due soon.

Paras Saluja

FOUNDER & DIRECTOR, SHAYNA ECOUNIFIED
A TEDx speaker and a travel addict with patriotic ambitions, Paras Saluja has several honours to his name and is well known in recycling industry due to his love for saving the planet. His realisation for waste plastic management happened when he reached Everest base camp and saw plastic dumps on the world’s most beautiful place. His continuous efforts thereafter were recognized under Government’s Startup India campaign. Paras Saluja is also Vice-President of Recycling Foundation (Delhi NCR region) and has been recently honoured as ‘Dynamic Contributor and Entrepreneur’ in tile industry under startup category for 2018-2019.

Ravi Kalra

FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT THE EARTH SAVIOURS FOUNDATION
Founder and President of ‘The Earth Saviours Foundation’, Ravi Kalra founded The Earth Saviours Foundation in January 2008. Since then he has dedicated his life for improving the lives of abandoned senior citizens, victimized women, mentally disabled people and people suffering from incurable diseases. Mr. Kalra strongly believes that due to human negligence and selfishness our planet Earth has been badly wounded and now it is the time for all socially conscious people to unite in order to heal the wounds of our mother Earth. He urges people to preserve and renew the beauty and goodness of our planet Earth.

Sayema Rahman

RADIO JOCKEY
RJ Sayema is an artist and a radio presenter. She started her radio journey with All India Radio as an English presenter and National News Reader. Some years after, she joined Radio Mirchi as the host of the much-acclaimed Hindi retro night show “Purani Jeans”. Now she also hosts 12-3 in Delhi wherein a radio magic happens and she is known as ‘Har marz ki dawa- Sayema’. An award-winning radio jockey, she has truly demolished the wall between generations and brought them together with her signature style of presenting the show the millennial way. RJ Sayema pioneered in bringing the heart-wrenching, soul stirring stories of prolific writer Saadat Hasan Manto on a private Radio Station in her radio series called “Ek Purani Kahani’. She also keeps the tradition of urdu poetry alive through her recitals of the likes of Ghalib, Faiz and Kaifi Azmi etc. She enjoys a massive fan following on social media with close to 7.5 lakh followers on twitter alone.

Venayak Gupta

HEAD OF GROWTH AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, YOUR - SPACE
The head of business development for ‘Your-Space’, India's premier student housing brand, Venayak Gupta has always been interested working in the sectors of healthcare and education. Venayak is constantly looking for an opportunity to service an unfulfilled need in these two sectors. His endeavour to provide safe and comfortable space with quality and consistent service for students was behind the initiation of ‘Your Space’. ‘Your-Space’ started out as a student housing service for girls and till today about 70% of their total resident base is female. However, upon diving into the market, they realized that need of good accommodation is beyond gender. Thus, ‘Your Space’ is currently providing service in 7 cities for 2100+ students, both female and male.
