This year’s TEDxPuxi explores the theme, IN PURSUIT OF, as a response to the diverse goals, dreams and hopes of the people living in Shanghai's urban metropolis of Puxi. Unprecedented change, pressures and expectations are driving us to push our limits, challenge our beliefs and abandon our old ways of doing things. Each day, millions of us are running around, chasing and striving for one thing or another. In an age of prosperity and opportunity, anything seems possible if we strive just a little more.

What are we in pursuit of? Securing our future? Striving for a better lifestyle? Co-creating with technology? Whatever it is we pursue, how can it change our lives? What price will we pay along the way? What effort should we make to be in pursuit?

Michael Huang 黄锐诚

Founder, Kacademy and Kitcat

As founder of Kitcat English, Michael Huang was selected top 30 under 30 by Forbes China. Beyond helping people learn English more effectively, Michael has expanded his efforts into STEAM learning. Teaching himself to code, design clothes, and how to apply mathematics, he and his team have made 3D printers for less than 100 USD, home made perfume, and in-home vertical cultivation systems to grow food.

Rita Zeng曾辰

PhD and AI Mentor

Rita has engaged in machine learning and deep learning related to GIS, IOT, satellite optics and other cross-functional fields. Through her work with Udacity, she has developed the content of Intro to Python and Digital Marketing. Her endeavor has mentored hundreds of students to master machine learning and deep learning. She has a Ph.D. in Geophysics from a joint program between Tongji University (China) and University of British Columbia (Canada).
