In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Brittany Bullen

Mother of 4, Self-Professed Marketing and Personal Development Nerd
Brittany Bullen is on a mission to make life better for moms. As a marketing consultant and author of the books “Personality Marketing: Join Your Industry’s A-List by Embracing Your Inner Nerd” and “The Crisis of the Ordinary: What to Do If You Secretly Wish for More Than What You’ve Got,” Brittany has a passion for helping her clients follow their nerdiness in the direction of their dreams.Mother of 4 and self-professed marketing and personal development nerd, she spends her days geeking out about ad strategy and sales copy while mashing her clients’ “inner potatoes” until they’re magically delicious.

Dr Scott Holden

Pianist, Professor of Music at Brigham Young University
Dr. Scott Holden has performed throughout the US, as well as numerous performances in Asia and Europe. He has performed two solo recitals in Carnegie Hall, as well as appearances at Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center. Recordings include three solo CDs as well as various chamber music works including many world premieres. He holds degrees from the University of Michigan, Manhattan School of Music, the Juilliard School, and was a Fulbright Scholar in Budapest, Hungary at the Liszt Academy. In the summers he teaches in Geneva, Switzerland, for Juilliard Summer Performing Arts. Scott Holden is currently the director of the piano program at BYU, and has created nearly 100 instructional videos on piano playing issues for his Youtube channel called “piano think”.

Dr. Jennifer Brown

Published Advocate for Child Protection and Health, Dentist, Mother of 5
Dr. Jennifer Brown was raised in Woods Cross, UT. She went to Weber State University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology. She attended dental school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Jennifer has worked at Hillfield Pediatric & Family Dentistry in Layton for 15 years. She is also very busy with community and political work which includes: anti-pornography legislation, director of Safe Internet for Utah Kids campaign, published author in the Journal of Adolescence, presenter at The World Congress of Neurology in Zurich Switzerland, member of the Davis Chamber of Commerce legislative committee, former president of United Women’s Forum, and former president of Davis County Republican Women. She is married to Mike Brown, a Bountiful native. They have five beautiful boys.

Dr. Susan R Madsen

Women & Leadership Global Thought Leader, Author, Speaker and Professor
Dr. Susan R. Madsen is considered one of the top global scholars and thought leaders on the topic of women’s leadership, has authored or edited six books, and has published hundreds of articles, chapters, and reports. Her research has been cited in the U.S. News and World Report, The Atlantic, The New York Times, Parenting Magazine, Chronicle of Higher Education, and The Washington Post. She is also a regular contributor to Forbes and other local and state newspapers. Dr. Madsen is the Orin R. Woodbury Professor of Leadership and Ethics in the Woodbury School of Business at Utah Valley University and serves on many nonprofit and community boards. Her passion is to strengthen the impact of girls and women worldwide.

Holly Richardson

MAPC, Wife, Mother, Speaker, Writer, Humanitarian
Holly Richardson loves many things and many people. She is a wife, mother, speaker, writer, humanitarian and world traveler. Her first academic degree was as a Registered Nurse. She later became a midwife, then earned a Bachelor's degree in Communication focusing on Public Relations, followed by a Master's degree in Professional Communication and is now a 2nd year PhD student in Political Science, focusing on nonprofit administration and international relations. Her research interests include emotional labor, burnout and short-term international humanitarian aid volunteers. She was also a member of the Utah House of Representatives and is currently the Chair for Real Women Run. Additionally, she is a columnist for the Salt Lake Tribune.

Jeff Scott

LCSW, Rocker Climber, Traveler, Dad
Jeff Scott is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, avid rock climber, passionate traveler, and soon-to-be dad. He specializes in self-esteem, anxiety, and couples counseling in his private practice in Salt Lake and Farmington, and is a current member of the Northern Utah Emotionally Focused Therapy board. During the warmer months, you will find him and his wife Jessica out on their 125 Buddy Scooter; a passion they discovered while traveling in Southeast Asia. He enjoys playing Bach cello suits on his tuba, and has played with the Utah Wind Symphony for the past 5 years. Each year, Jeff takes a solo travel pilgrimage to different parts of the world where he finds opportunities for spirituality and self-improvement.

Matt Lalli

Trial Lawyer
Matt Lalli is a trial lawyer by profession with more than 30 years of experience in the courtroom trying mostly business disputes. By disposition, he is a philosopher, reader, writer, and teacher with a knack for finding profound lessons in the obscure, mundane, and confusing. Though largely an introvert who claims to live most of his life within the walls of his own head, Matt developed a love for public speaking through speech classes in high school and it continues with him today, both professionally and personally. His wife Andra and three children bear the burdens – and occasionally the benefits – of that passion.

Shelley L. Davies

Mother, Grandmother, Friend, Director of Development at CenterPoint Legacy Theatre
Shelley L. Davies is a proud Bountiful, UT native and executive director and founder of Friend to Friend, a program for individuals with "remarkabilities" with whom she has been working with for over 25 years. Educated at both the University of Utah and BYU, Shelley has made a career as a mother, educator in both Jr. High and College classrooms and currently serves as the Director of Development at CenterPoint Legacy Theatre. Married to her high school sweetheart, Bill, together they have seven children who are her heart, but have lost "favorite" status to her 13 exceptional grandchildren.

Truman Harris

Composer, Musician
Truman Harris (15) composes and arranges songs for groups and his own performances. He plays the trombone, saxophone, tuba, trumpet, upright bass, piano, flute and any other instrument he can get his hands on. He's currently in the Little Big Band at Caleb Chapman's Soundhouse. He's done six shows at CenterPoint Legacy Theatre including playing Tiny Tim in Scrooge, Michael Darling in Peter Pan and Louis in The King & I. He also played Gavroche in Les Miserables at Desert Star. Truman has perfect pitch so he can tell you what key the elevator ding is. When he's not composing or playing music, he likes to sing, and hang out with friends or his snake,Charlie.
