Theme: Right Angle of the Clock

This event occurred on

Time is the chisel that sculpts every stone. Every idea is valuable, but the right angle of time determines the durability of the idea, thereby characterizing it as either productive or otherwise. The right angle is not merely a mathematical calque of Latin "angulus rectus", meaning "upright"; but a symbol of both precision and perfection. From Pythagoras to Thales, everyone has strengthened the theory of a right angle. Time is the entity that serves as the fourth dimension of space. It is an illusion created by the mind to aid in our sense of temporal presence in the vast ocean of space. However, for better or worse, one cannot change the past. One can only look forward and act in a manner that will set the course for a better future.

They always say, time changes things, but in reality it is us who bring about vast transformations. The clock is ticking, the hours are passing by, the past increases, the future recedes and thus, possibilities continue to decrease. Through our theme- “The Right Angle Of Clock”, we tell you that it is never too early or too late to be whoever you want to be. We hail the strength of people who enacted to the vision behind their ideas in the right time. In 24 hours, a clock turns to 90 degree for exactly 44 times. With this, we only mean to substantiate the fact that life gives us a lot of opportunities and only those who are able to mould their ideas into action at the right angle of clock spread the radiance of their efforts in this competent and varying world. With perseverance, consistency and determination, we can make the hardest of times our own and even the most difficult of ventures a pleasant endeavour. History has stood witness to a wide array of people who didn’t wait for the perfect clock alignment but stood up and rewrote history on their own. Be it Charles Bukowski, who for most part of his life was a alcoholic, but rose to the stature of a great novelist by sheer perseverance; or someone like Ansel Adams who didn’t wait for the perfect photograph. Mark Zuckerberg was 20 when he founded Facebook and went on to become the youngest billionaire. Sir Richard Branson was 42 when he achieved the same milestone.

At TEDxKIITUniversity, we firmly believe that it is imperative for the adolescents of Generation Z to be able to think on their feet and not get caught up in a realm comprising of what-ifs and should-haves. We must put our best foot forward ornamented with consistent efforts and knowledge in the right time to create a positive impact within our fraternity. Through “The Right Angle Of Clock”, we advocate the fact that we must be responsible enough for our actions and not propagate nihilism by waiting for things to happen. Instead, we must be quick and responsive and be able to tackle whatever befalls without deliberate excuses.
