In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

I am a National Board Certified French Teacher and Franco-American. I have 18 years of teaching experience. I began my teaching career in France, teaching elementary and middle school English in Caen, France. I then taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades at the French Immersion School of WA in Bellevue, WA. I taught high school French and was the World Languages Curriculum Specialist in Central Kitsap School District in Silverdale, Wa. In 2007 I moved to Iowa where I taught French and worked as a curriculum specialist in a home school program in Linn Mar School District in Marion, IA. I moved back to Washington State in 2013 and in 2016 opened Bon Voyage French School- a French language school focusing on linguistic education and cultural experience.

I have spent much of my energy trying to connect passionate people with a greater purpose of bettering their community. I currently am CEO of Wildland, a software development firm who invests in and helps technology startups grow in small cities.
