In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Franklin Ubi

Ubi Ekapong Ofem, is a Nigerian music artist manager and the founder and CEO of record label Made Men Music Group (Triple MG).[1][2] In 2017, he launched a start-up called Instant Pickup, a service which specializes in instant home pickup and delivery of laundry. Franklin admitted that from July 2016 to March 2017, he struggled to overcome bouts of depression which almost led him to commit suicide. Franklin is also a public speaker, entrepreneur and social crusader.

Hamzat Lawal

Hamzat Lawal (Hamzy!) is an activist who has successfully led grassroots campaigns in over 40 African countries with over nine years experience in the non-profit sector and specializes in practical issues associated with Climate Change, Open Data, advocacy campaigns and development policies as it affects rural and deprived grassroots communities. Hamzy! is also the Co-Founder of Follow The Money, a Pan-African grassroots data-driven movement and leads a team of technology & innovation driven campaigners to amplify voices of marginalized communities in promoting accountability as it affects utilization of public funds focusing on specific communities across Africa. He is currently the Chief Executive of Connected Development (CODE), under his leadership CODE won the ONE Africa 2016 Award which recognizes, rewards, and advances the exceptional work of Africa based organisations; dedicated to helping the continent achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Miranda Buba-Atare

Miranda Buba Atare is a Nigerian public health supply chain specialist whose work has revolved around improving the lives of women and children living in remote communities. She was raised in a culturally and religiously diverse environment in North East Nigeria where access to quality healthcare services remains limited to a privileged few. Determined to impact the lives of the vulnerable and disadvantaged, she has contributed to the development of policies, guidelines, distribution frameworks and tools that ensure improved availability of essential life-saving medicines in primary healthcare centers across the country. She is a published author, whose work; ‘I Am Not Your Equal’ has received commendation as strong voice in modern African literature for her ability to generate awareness on issues affecting women and children in a developing country.

Omoyele Sowore

Omoyele Sowore is a Nigerian human rights activist, pro-democracy campaigner, founder of online news agency Sahara Reporters. Sowore studied Geography and Regional Planning at the University of Lagos from 1989 to 1995 with his academic program extended by two extra years after being expelled twice for political reasons and student activist.

Uche Okafor

Uche Okafor is the Country Manager of Taxify in Nigeria. He manages the local team and coordinates operations across cities. He graduated from the Federal University Of technology, Akure with a B.ENG in Agricultural Engineering. After Graduation, he delved in the world of Information Technology having brief stints and knowledge in Core networking, project management and Information security. Ultimately he spent 4 years as an Information security consultant and was in charge of ensuring clients internal network and data are protected from external or internal attacks.
