Look around! Take a moment to appreciate how much the world has changed in the last few decades. We now live in the information age and - many would claim - a knowledge economy. Yet it is easier to feel lost and uncertain about the future than ever.

But our future matters, both individually and collectively. And although information may be available in abundance, it does not necessarily seem to take us closer to knowledge and wisdom. Is it time to rethink our relationship with information and knowledge?

How can we prepare for a future we cannot predict? What kind of knowledge is fit for the 21st century? What does learning mean in the 21st century context, and what is worth learning? How can we infuse knowledge with wisdom and responsibility?

These are the questions we'd like to explore with the help of our community members and a few invited speakers.

It is almost impossible to sum up his life in three sentences, so we don’t even try it here. But we hope, that the reader saw or heard one of the radio of the TV series as Gondolatjel, Stúdió, Apropó, Desszert, Világfalu, or Különös történetek, or one of his reportages, talks, novels such as his newly published, very personal Világkép. His work was rewarded with many awards, including Pulitzer Prize in Hungary. Since 2008 he has been a professor at Budapest Metropolitan University.
