TEDxAmericanSchoolofUlaanbaatar is an event that celebrates ideas, curiosity, and conversation. This event caters to youth in middle and high school with a theme of "What Now?" This event will feature both youth and adult speakers as well as a screening of selected interesting and thought-provoking videos from the TEDYouth playlist.

Amy Rankin

Social Worker
There is no health without mental health. Everyone has mental health, and Amy Rankin has spent the last 7 years in China rebranding mental health from a negative to a positive. As the Director of Personal Development at Shenzhen (Nanshan) Concord College, she pioneered the first counselling and psychoeducational programming in schools that focuses on mental health and wellness. She now works as Mental Health Consultant and Program Developer for AKD China, working to replicate her innovative and successful programming in schools across China. Her philosophy that prevention and education will reduce stigma and the need for intervention has paved the way for mental health awareness to grow both within the school and local community.

Anar Amarjargal

Student
Anar Amarjargal is a rising junior at Sakura High School. She is a successful student achieving the Best Student nomination two times in a row at her school. She enjoys reading books and playing instruments. She is efficient and does not like to waste time. Since Anar has already lost one of her beloved sisters, she became aware of how precious her family is to her.

Elmond Ray Mondigo

Teacher
Elmond Mondigo was born and raised in the Philippines. He is a teacher, public speaking trainer, leadership coach, and radio and TV host. He has worked with and organised NGOs for the youth sector. Building awareness to the minds of the young generation of the needs in the community is his passion. For the last ten years his career has been built around volunteer work for several organisations in Korean, Taiwan, and the Philippines.

Lkhagva Erdene

Journalist
Lkhagva Erdene is a graduate of The University of Hong Kong's Journalism and Media Study Centre through the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. He is a successful broadcast journalist and executive producer of news at MongolTV, Mongolia. He is also a Global Shaper with the World Economic Forum and serves as ethics committee member at the Media Council of Mongolia. Lkhagva is currently working on the Panama Papers project with The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists. He likes road safety and fencing and lives in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Mandarivaa Lkhagvasuren

Social Work
Mandarivaa Lkhagvasuren is a Social Advocate. She finished her bachelors in International Relations and Politics at Kingston University of London (specializing in Genocide & Crimes Against Humanity). She is on a mission to bring awareness of Genocide & Crimes Against Humanity in Mongolia. Maya's goal is to use education to break cycles of hatred and prevent Genocide & Crimes Against Humanity.
