In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Jim Astrove

Technology
Jim Astrove is a teacher at St. Catherine's School, where he has taught for 9 years. This his 32nd year in the classroom. He was a camp counselor at Camp Winnebago in Maine for 32 summers after being a camper there for 7 years. Jim loves to cook, canoe, kayak and count nineteens everywhere he goes.

Katie Hogan

Noor Samee

Student
Noor is a junior at St. Catherine's School. She is a co-head of the school’s feminism club, an active participant in STC's inclusion efforts, and an annual speaker for the 7th Grade's "Understanding Islam" talk. She is the social media manager for New Star Kafala, an international adoption agency based in the US. She is also a former blogging intern for UNICEF's Voices of Youth and was speaker at the UN Sustainable Development Goals Summit, working alongside the UNSG Ban-Ki Moon and former professional soccer player David Beckham.

Riley Alvis

Student
Riley is a Junior at St. Catherine's and has been attending STC since 5th grade. A 3-season athlete, Riley will graduate with 13 varsity letters. She spends her summers working as a dive coach and loves hanging out with little kids. She has two younger brothers who go to Collegiate, two parents whom she loves, and (most importantly) 2 really cute dogs.

Schuyler Guare

Student
Schuyler is a St. Catherine's junior, and she loves school and learning - even though it can get pretty stressful. Outside of the school day, she is lucky enough to work with one of her sisters backstage in the theatre. She also participates in honor council and peer advisors.

Spencer Cox

Student
Spencer entered the St. Christopher's community in 6th grade and was instantly attracted to the way the campus functioned. As a sophomore, he is particularly interested in English and health. To pass the time, he writes, climbs, or plays the guitar.
