In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Birte Karoline Manke

PhD-Candidate, Lecturer

Birte K. Manke is a 22 year-old PhD candidate at the Leuphana. Since her first day on campus, she knew that she wanted to be part of the knowledge creating process. Driven by immense curiosity she studied business psychology, political science, management and marketing, further, enriched her perspectives within subjects like philosophy, sociology and arts. Due to her distinct academic performance she was funded by the German National Academic Foundation. One of her greatest passions besides research is teaching, which she sees as a great responsibility and an opportunity to inspire people and change the world

Colin Bien

Gründer & Geschäftsführer

Colin Bien is research assistant, PhD-candidate and founder of True Fabrics, a sustainability oriented online shop offering fabrics from small-scale manufactures all around the world. He studied at the Leuphana University Lüneburg, the University of Oldenburg and the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. He is co-founder of the student initiative Nachdenkstatt. Colin has consulted the European Court of Auditors in greening their procurement processes and was invited as an expert in the field of sustainability reporting in higher education by the German Council for Sustainability. He co-initiated the Sustainability Reporting Network in Higher Education, now HOCHN. By the age of 24 he and two friends founded Boom le Choc, a DJ Team that shared stage with numerous DJs from all across the world.

Dr. Christian Welzel

Professor

Christian Welzel is Chair of Political Culture Research at Leuphana University Lueneburg. He is also vice-president of the World Values Survey, senior foreign advisor of the National Research University in Moscow and affiliate of the Center for the Study of Democracy, UC Irvine. Author of 120 publications, Welzel’s research focuses on global cultural change. His most recent book is the award-winning Freedom Rising (2013 at Cambridge University Press).

Imke Neumann

Student

Imke Neumann is a student majoring in business psychology, as she is deeply fascinated in the ways that our minds work and develop. Apart from all the lectures she has also been active in student groups advocating LGBT-rights or helping refugees attend classes at uni. When she is not on campus Imke likes to play the guitar, write songs, attend rock concerts or watch movies and series. Ever since she spent a year in Finland at the age of 15, she got hooked on learning new languages, exploring different cultures and finnish chocolate. Her most recent trips have been short backpacking trips using couchsurfing. Her profile on the website says that the most awesome thing about her is living a zero waste lifestyle. Imkes next adventure will be studying for a semester in Shanghai.

Joachim Kreye

Unternehmer

Joachim Kreye ist seit seiner Studienzeit Unternehmer. Schon während seines Physik- und Chemiestudiums an der Universität Hamburg machte er sich in der Finanz- und Vermögensberatung selbstständig und führt dort heute ein Beratungsunternehmen mit 9 Standorten und über 100 Mitarbeitern. 2008 absolvierte er berufsbegleitend den MBA Sustainability Management an der Leuphana. 2011 gründete er den Energieversorger FIRSTCON GmbH, der ausschließlich Ökostrom und klimaneutrales Ökogas liefert. Mit der Marke LÜNESTROM ist FIRSTCON stark regional engagiert und fördert sowohl die Verbreitung von E-Mobilität durch Sponsoring von Ladesäulen, als auch Nahversorgung mit Wärme und Quartiersstrom. Außerdem werden Vereine vor Ort über Spendenkooperationen unterstützt. Apropos Vereine: in seiner Freizeit trainiert Joachim Kreye seit mehreren Jahrzehnten traditionelles Karate und Aikido.

Kirsten Bruhn

Promovendin

Kirsten Bruhn ist seit 2014 Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin im Infis der Fakultät Nachhaltigkeit an der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg und hauptamtlich Lehrende für das Fach Sachunterricht. 2016 hat sie gemeinsam mit ihrer Kollegin Sabine Richter die konzeptionelle Planung und Durchführung der Kinderuni übernommen. Nach einem Bachelorstudium der Interkulturellen Kommunikation in Dänemark (Syddansk Universitet Sønderborg) und in Frankreich (Université Val de Marne Paris) absolvierte Kirsten Bruhn ein Lehramtsstudium an der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg. Von 2012-2014 war sie Stipendiatin des Förderkreises der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg e.V. Seit 2016 arbeitet Kirsten Bruhn an ihrer Dissertation zur Rolle ästhetischer Zugänge im Kontext Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung.

Michael Kobbeloer

Author, Trainer, Entrepreneur

Michael Kobbeloer studierte Lehramt an berufsbildenden Schulen in Lüneburg und ist heute selbstständiger Speaker, Berater und Autor. Im Mittelpunkt seiner Tätigkeit steht das Thema Lernkulturen in Bildungsinstitutionen und Unternehmen basierend auf dem von ihm entwickelten Konzept einer emotionalen Didaktik.

Sabine Richter

Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin / Lehrende

Dr. Ing. Sabine Richter ist seit 2014 Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin im Infis der Fakultät Nachhaltigkeit an der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg und hauptamtlich Lehrende für das Fach Sachunterricht. 2016 hat sie gemeinsam mit ihrer Kollegin Kirsten Bruhn die konzeptionelle Planung und Durchführung der Kinderuni übernommen. Sabine Richter hat das Chemiestudium mit der Promotion an der TU Darmstadt 1999 abgeschlossen. Seit 2004 ist sie Mitglied des Kursleiternetzwerks von Science-Lab e.V. Sie bietet Forscherkurse zu unterschiedlichen naturwissenschaftlichen Themen und Weiterbildungen für Pädagogische Fachkräfte, außerdem ist sie zuständig für die Ausbildung weiterer Kursleiter_innen und die Konzeption von neuen Programmen.
