This inaugural TEDx event at Larry J. Ringer Library will explore our modern relationship with technology and social media. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Four TEDTalks videos will be shown at TEDxLJRLibrary, followed by a moderated discussion of the videos and event theme.

The TEDTalks to be shown are:

Monica Lewinsky's "The Price of Shame"
Stefana Broadbent's "How the Internet Enables Intimacy"
Juan Enriquez's "Your Online Life, as Permanent as a Tattoo"
Clay Shirky's "How social media can make history"
