TEDxYouth@CSD is an event taking place on the same time and at the same time as the TEDYouth Event. The theme this year is "Made in the Future!" Talks today will focus on improvements, suggestions, hopes, and ideas for the future!

Alex Sun

Alex Sun is a Utah high school student concerned about the future and the need for youth participation in planning for that future. As an ambassador for the Utah Youth Council, Alex provides examples of how youth are currently supporting Utah and why more youth need to be involved.

Brady Bean

Brady Bean is a Utah middle school student interested in debate and sports. He encourages his peers to always look ahead at your goals and to not be disappointed by failures. Brady's positivity is contagious!

Brady Hartog

Brady Hartog is a talented Utah high school student with a passion for music, technology and the ways in which the two intersect. Creating his own original track for TEDxYouth, Brady showcases his ability to mesh technology with electronic dance music to produce an original soundtrack.

​Braxton Giles

Braxton is a focused and sincere speaker sharing his ideas on public policy and the public good. Braxton is a student at CTEC in the Canyons School District in Sandy, UT.

Clayton Halper

Clayton Halper is a Utah high school student who has witnessed the negative social impacts of technology use among his peers and is concerned about the future for youth. Using technology daily, Clayton and his peers realize the benefits and enjoy technology but also understand it is important to power down and interact personally as well.

Emalee Egelund

Emalee Egelund is a Utah high school student who encourages us to realize that today's youth need role models of all races and colors. Using personal experiences in life and school, she showcases examples from pop culture and describes the impact they have made in shaping her self-identity.

Jack Grimm

Jack Grimm is an entertaining Utah middle school student who thrives on creativity and is an avid debater. Jack has a positive outlook on what makes up our personalities and believes youth will need to utilize both sides of their personalities in the future.

Lauren Bohmholdt

Lauren Bohmholdt is a social Utah middle school student. Selfies, posting, liking, and commenting are part of each day for her. Lauren encourages us to consider the positive implications of teaching students appropriate use of social media.

Maddie Wilson

Maddie Wilson says she has always had music in her. She loves adding her own style to cover songs and posting them to YouTube. She has developed a large fan base online. She has worked hard at learning to play the guitar and has found that she absolutely loves to write songs.

Melini dos Santos

Brazilian born Melini dos Santos is a Utah middle school student who is passionate about using technology. Technology has been integral in her process of learning English, communicating, and staying in touch with friends, and she believes technology is extremely important for today's youth.

Merry Joseph

Merry Joseph is a remarkable Utah high school student with a creative mind for solving third world issues. Merry applies her advanced knowledge of Chemistry to help people globally.

Nicholas Berenjnoi

Nicholas Berenjnoi is an energetic Utah middle school student interested in history and debate. As a history buff, Nicolas enjoys learning about the past and is passionate about sharing that knowledge with his peers.

Rachel Barnes

Rachel Barnes is an amazing Utah high school student with a passion for all things physics. This passion started through reading science fiction and encompasses topics that are not too far removed from our current reality. She is her high school's Computer Technology Sterling Scholar nominee.

Rachel Pomeroy

Rachel Pomeroy is a busy Utah high school student who encourages us to slow down! She describes organizing and scheduling techniques we can all use to enjoy our lives a bit more.

Sadie Chidester

Sadie is a courageous Utah high school student who to stop saying "No" to opportunities. By becoming a "Yes-Man" Sadie has learned not to be afraid to take on new challenges and has learned to love new experiences.

Sara Arkell

The Piano Gal, Sara Arkell, is a pianist and performer who began learning how to play at age 5. At age 8 she realized she could play the piano backwards, and her dad posted her first YouTube video that was recognized by One Direction during a Nickelodeon show. In late 2014, Sara was contacted by YouTuber Jason Lyle Black, and they released a video called "Dueling Siblings - Frozen Fever" that has amassed over 50 million social media views. The Piano Gal and Jason were invited to Japan to perform as part of a flash mob event for Fuji TV. Their video also won the Audience Choice Award at the Utah Music Awards.

Sophie Will

Sophie Will is a Utah high school student who is concerned about the ways in which youth communicate with each other and with adults. She is an activist for clear and concise communication, not only for youth, but for adults as well.

Valeria Rodriguez

Valeria Rodriguez is a Utah high school student who forces us to think about people through our interactions with them and not through social stereotypes. She challenges society's labels and pushes others to see the world through a new lens.
