In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Aqyan Bhatti

Aqyan Bhatti received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2013. He is working toward a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at UT Austin, where his research is focused on understanding and modeling the underlying physics in the operation of nanoscale solid-state electronic devices.

Brent Iverson

Growing up in Silicon Valley, the nation’s hub of innovation and entrepreneurship, Iverson saw time and time again how ideas and individuals can change the world, if given a supportive environment. Since his appointment, Iverson has worked tirelessly to show prospective Longhorns that Undergraduate Studies is the best place for students unsure of their majors. As the school continues to grow in popularity, Iverson focuses on strengthening its unique resources to ensure that each student finds his or her collegiate calling.

Clint Tuttle

Clint Tuttle has been an MIS Lecturer since Fall 2011.  Clint teaches traditional and online versions of Intro to IT Management as well as the MIS capstone course, Business Systems Development. Clint is happily married and in his spare time likes working out, playing with his two dogs, writing code, traveling overseas, playing music, and experiencing the fun Austin has to offer.  He’s deeply passionate about good teaching, getting students to not fear failure, and also mentoring his students to define what their own path to success is. He also continues to consult part-time for the Federal Government and other organizations. During the summer he works part-time as a musician for a diabetic youth camp.

Don Haynes

Don Haynes served as the Director of Bands at LBJ High School in Austin, Texas for 40 years. During his tenure, the LBJ Band performed across the globe including ambassador trips to Beijing, China, London, England, Paris, France, and Rome, Italy. Mr. Haynes shares that his greatest accomplishment is influencing thousands of young people through his love for music, his dedication to excellence, and his commitment to creating a “band family” for 40 years at LBJ High School. Following an illustrious 42 years of teaching high school band, Don has become a certified Life Coach. Assisting hundreds of students, band parents and colleagues in the band profession over the past four decades, he has become a special confidant for professionals, as well as young students who are in hopes of crafting their future. He specializes in group and individual conflict resolution, and serves as a motivational speaker across the state of Texas.

Elizabeth Medina

Elizabeth is a junior at the University of Texas at Austin studying Chemistry. She is a pre-medical student hoping to one day run her own practice and use a combination of diet, therapy, and medicine to heal the physical and psychological wounds of her patients. She is the proud owner of her mini wiener dog Bella, who helped her heal and grow through some of her life's toughest battles.

Hamaila Qureshi

Hamaila Qureshi is a lifelong student and activist. While completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Texas, she was the president of the local chapter of Liberty in North Korea (LiNK) and during her term, the team raised the funds to rescue two refugees. She continued working with LiNK after graduation and during her internship Hamaila empowered 300+ Rescue Teams around the world by creating and distributing resources. Hamaila hopes to pursue graduate education in design in order to empower and better the lives of people around the world.

Leti Bueno

Leti Bueno is a Sales and Development associate for Ten Thousand Villages in Austin and a Fair Trade Ambassador with Catholic Relief Services. She is also a Director of Community Ministries and Outreach with St. Catherine of Siena church in Austin. Leti brings her experience to help others be of service and advocates for change in their communities.

Micah Taair

Micah Taair is a librarian, poet, and aspiring author from Chicago Illinois.

Mo O'Brien

An education consultant and teacher in Austin, Mo trains educators on transforming school cultures and on character-development in classrooms.

Morgan Eisenstot

Morgan Eisenstot is a student leader on UT’s campus who has participated in Texas Leadership Summit, Multicultural Leadership Institute, Freshmen Leaders in Progress as a participant and mentor, and has served as an Orientation Advisor for two summers. She is featured in the University of Texas Fine Arts Library and is pursuing a double major in Studio Art and Advertising. In her fields of study, Morgan focuses on social commentary and social anxiety and fears as well as the use of social norms by others in art, media, movements, interpersonal relationships, and material relationships.

Ziyaad Khayrattee

Son of Mauritian immigrants, Ziyaad is a business and liberal arts student at the University of Texas. His experiences in both American and on the island have crafted his visions for rewriting the narrative of education on a local and global level.
