Theme: Beyond Status Quo

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Dr Derek is a passionate lecturer lecturing on the principles of marketing. Driven by his keen interest in marketing, Dr Derek hopes to inspire students to continue to push the conventional knowledge of marketing and expand upon what is most common thing.

Desmond Ng

Desmond, a magician and mentalist, his deepest desire is to leave his audiences in awe and astonishment every single time! Growing up as a kid, he has always been fascinated about magic. He would spent hours just sitting in front of the screen watching no other than magic and persistently tries to figure out how it was done. At the age of 19, he took a bold step to go full fledge in magic and although this decision wasn’t well supported by many, he still continues his journey into the art of magic all by himself.

Jansen Luis Alexander

Dr Jansen Luis Alexander is a Professional Civil Engineer widely experienced in major power plant development particular hydroelectric and thermal projects. Dr Jansen’s work embodies Beyond Status Quo in developing sustainable energy sources and has carried out various inspections and prepared reports on all major hydroelectric dam safety and associated structures. He has prepared , presented and executed various proposals for new project developments.

Kamarul A. Muhamed

Kamarul is the founder of Aerodyne, a leading drone service provider in Malaysia. It is focused on innovating integrated drone-based solutions that enable organizations transform their businesses and operations. He is an experienced drone pilot and has flown commercially around the globe. His spare time is spent flying for humanitarian purposes and exploring the beauty of nature. A person who truly speaks, breathe and live drones!

Zafran Aqil

Zafran is one of the best yo-yo player in Malaysia and he has competed in many local and international competitions. Even though the yo-yo scene is small, he has kept playing and competing even though it is an area that receives little to no attention.
