In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

David Mattison

David has an intense interest in astronomy and is currently part of the Nottingham Astronomical Society.

Gaynor Nash, former Leicester ladies hockey player, works with Join In to inspire young athletes and to increase access to sport facilities for local clubs. Her work has been vital following the legacy of the 2012 Olympics

Gudrun Bielz

German artist, poet and film maker in London. Gudrun incorporates the idea of creative dissolution of academic disciplines capturing the spirit of movement and dynamism.

Herve Morvan

Herve Morvan is the Director of the Institute for Aerospace technology and a professor in applied fluid mechanics at the University of Nottingham. He has also work with Speedo and Team GB on swimsuits for athletes such as Rebecca Adlington.

James Smith

Dr James Smith founded the National Holocaust centre and the AEGIS trust. James has also been involved in constructing the Kigali Genocide memorial in the former Rwanda. James is also a trained Neurosurgeon.

Maddy Crowther

Maddy Crowther is a graduate with a degree from Cambridge University. Maddy works in communications and she works with several NGOs both in the UK and abroad, including the NGO Waging peace.

Nick Little

Nick Little is from Norfolk, and is one of the masterminds behind the Human Library, run by Outsiders CIC. The human Library aims to challenge prejudice by offering people the opportunity to talk to those that they maybe don't fully understand or have stereotyped.

Robyn Steward

Author, advisor and professional trainer and consultant in Asperger's and Autism, Robyn Stewart has had a huge impact inspiring people all over the world. In addition, Robyn is an artist, musician, radio producer and broadcaster

Shrouk El-Attar

Shrouk is an asylum-seeker from Egypt, an LGBT activist and a belly dancer.

Terence Kong

Terence is a student with an extraordinary gift for capturing mesmerising images. Terence passion for photography is truly inspiring, as shown by his breathtaking pictures.

Terence Lapidus

Terence is a seasoned innovator and social entrepreneur. He is currently the CEO of the Big Collaboration, which is a collaborative venture designed to bring together non-profits, private sector companies, governments and businesses to solve educational and environmental challenges.
