In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Jeniene Matthews

When St. Mark's students talk about their favorite class, or the project they’re most excited about, or the most interesting thing they learned this week, or who their toughest teacher is, the person they name most often is Jeniene Matthews. Fortunately for her students, Jeniene joined the St. Mark’s faculty as an English teacher in 2010 following a highly successful law career. The holder of the Evill-Glavin Teaching Chair, Jeniene Matthews is a beloved teacher, coach and mentor.

John Noseworthy

John Noseworthy is president and CEO of the world-renowned Mayo Clinic. He is an accomplished neuroscientist, specializing in Multiple Sclerosis research and he literally wrote the book on neurological therapeutics.

John Sculley

John Sculley has been on the front lines of a technological revolution that not only echoes today, but continues to pick up speed. John is a legendary brand builder who led the Pepsi Challenge Campaign, and served as CEO of Pepsi Cola until 1983, when he was recruited by Steve Jobs to revitalize Apple, and served as its CEO until 1993. Today, Mr. Sculley expertly guides and helps start-up companies to see possibilities.

Lindy Elkins-Tanton

Dr. Lindy Elkins-Tanton has served on the faculty at MIT, directed the Department of Terrestrial Magnetism at the Carnegie Institution for Science and is currently the Director of Arizona State University’s School of Earth and Space Exploration. Lindy’s project team has been selected by NASA for consideration as a future key planetary mission to explore the metallic asteroid, “Psych”. She is the rarest breed of scientists: the kind that loves to teach.

Mark Albion

Mark Albion is the Faculty Founder of Net Impact. Dr. Albion spent nearly 20 years at Harvard University and its Business School as a student and professor, followed by 25 years of speaking about meaningful careers at over 650 universities on five continents. He has co-founded six social-impact companies and is a New York Times Best Selling author of seven books. His work earned him a hug from Mother Teresa and Ronald Reagan, but not at the same time.

Michael Jensen

Dr. Michael Jensen is a leader in the field of cancer immunotherapy research. As the founding director of the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research at Seattle Children's Research Institute, Dr. Jensen and his team are pioneering translational research with striking results that just might change the way we think of disease treatment.

Michael B. Moore

Michael B. Moore's career has focussed on helping companies define and communicate powerful brands. His experience includes marketing, management, strategy and branding at some of the world's more respected companies including Coca-Cola and Kraft.

Ron Suskind

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author Ron Suskind has written some of America’s most important works of nonfiction, framing national debates while exploring the complexities of human experience. Ron’s latest work, Life, Animated, A Story of Sidekicks, Heroes and Autism, chronicles his family’s twenty year struggle with their youngest son’s autism. The book, a journeyman v of the heart, much in the style of his first book, A Hope in the Unseen, takes readers to the core of the most fundamental human issues – love, faith, friendship, brotherhood, what parents can offer their children, and how, in moments of darkness, we literally need stories to survive. In addition to his books, he often appears on network television and has been a contributor for The New York Times Magazine and Esquire. Mr. Suskind was the Wall Street Journal’s senior national affairs reporter from 1993 until his departure in 2000, and won the 1995 Pulitzer Prize for Feature Writing.

Somnieng Houern

Venerable Somnieng was formerly the second head monk of Wat Damnak Temple and a co-founder of Life and Hope Association. Somnieng completed his masters degree in public administration at the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government. In 2014 Somnieng handed his Executive Director role to Venerable Loeurm as he sought to serve the broader Cambodian people in a more public role. Somnieng continues to serve Wat Damnak Temple as a senior advisor.

Tabby Biddle

Tabby Biddle is an advocate, author, coach, mentor and activist. She is a powerful and important voice for the human rights of women and girls. She has supported hundreds of women on their path into leadership – including business leaders, media personalities, celebrity activists, artists and entrepreneurs.

Thomas Kean

Thomas H. Kean has devoted his life to public service. For decades, the former Governor of New Jersey and Chairman of the 9/11 Commission has been a voice for moderation and reason in national politics.
