In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Mohamed Al-Mahdi

Mohamed was born and raised in Sudan. He studied Medicine at University of Khartoum. Since a very young age he was fascinated by storytelling and music composition, how people are eager to follow a story through to its conclusion, and how they would listen to pieces of music over and over, and the fact that everyone all over the world finds these experiences rewarding; and are therefore motivated to seek similar experiences again and again. This has led him to develop an interest in the inner workings of the human mind, and had me wondering about things like: what keeps us interested, motivated and allows to enjoy life?
