This event is geared towards the youth in our community and will feature a ten speakers and performers all between the ages of 11 and 18. Through their amazing stories and experiences we seek to inspire and empower the 6-12th graders in our audience, as well as all those who watch these talks online.

Obi

Obi is a Lawrence, KS band that started in 2010 with its members consisting of Max Limesand, Sam Allen, Henry Mackinnon, and Atticus vonHolten.

Annika Knudson

Annika is a senior in high school who participates in theatre, choir, and recently cheer. She hopes to continue these activities in college though she doesn't know what she wants to study. She had an illness as a child that compromised her immune system, but she has not let that keep her from pursuing her goals.

Harper Schoenfeld

Harper Schoenfeld is an 8th grader at West Middle School. She participates in choir, band, softball, and competitive cheerleading. Harper is an avid feminist. She expresses her beliefs through poetry and vocal music, and is never afraid of participating in a political debate.

John "Six" Milburn

John is always willing to give advice and a helping hand to anyone in need.He's also on Eagle Scout and a lover of the outdoors.

Kayla Clark

Kayla Clark is a senior at Lawrence Free State High School. She is highly involved in choir and theater, holding leadership positions in both. She founded the Free State Young Feminists' Club, and continues to organize meetings. Kayla hopes to attend Kansas State University with a political science major and a double minor in music and women's studies.

Lauren Brittain

Lauren Brittain is a sophomore at Free State High School. She is a regular volunteer for our library, a member of Free State's competitive slam poetry team, and a reporter for the newspaper staff. Being somewhat young, Lauren doesn't have it all figured out yet, but she is interested in journalism and public relations as careers. Whether she's writes for Time magazine, or works in relations for a publishing house, she is ready to make her mark on the world.

Sarah Lieberman

Sarah Lieberman is a senior at Free State High School. She is involved in model United Nations, speech and debate, cross country, National Honors Society, and Youth Against Rape Culture club. She will be attending Cornell University in the fall to study government and psychology.

Zia Kelly

Zia Kelly is a junior at Lawrence High School and has been a competitive powerlifter for the past two years. She is also editor-in-chief of the LHS student newspaper, The Budget, and plays soccer. After high school she hopes to double-major in journalism and environmental science.
