In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Varun Patra and Mandovi Menon

Varun Patra and Mandovi Menon are the co-founders of Homegrown, a youth culture magazine covering topics like art, fashion, music, literature, and lifestyle. Homegrown is a two-pronged youth media company–one part online publication, one part creative agency.

Anahita Sanjana

Anahita Sanjana is an ardent practitioner and teacher of Yoga, and has been awarded the Outstanding Educator award from the University of Chicago. She works with youngsters in several schools in Mumbai and is trying to integrate yoga into school curricula.

Dr. Sam Taraporevala

Dr. Sam Taraporevala is an Associate Professor and the Head of Department of Sociology and Anthropology at St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Mumbai. He is also the Director of The Xavier’s Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged (XRCVC) which was his brainchild. He is a catalytic force in bettering the lives of the visually challenged, including bringing amendments to the Copyright Act of India, and in making banking systems more inclusive and accessible for the blind.

Dr. Spenta Wadia

Spenta R. Wadia is one of India’s leading theoretical physicists working in the areas of elementary particle physics, quantum gravity, and string theory. He has been visiting faculty at the Institute for Advanced Studies at Princeton, USA, and CERN, Geneva. He is an alumnus of St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and a Distinguished Professor at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR).

Dr. Vidita Vaidya

Dr. Vidita Vaidya works in neuroscience and molecular psychiatry at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. She is a Senior Overseas Research Fellow of the Wellcome Trust and was previously an associate of the Indian Academy of Sciences.

Krishan Anand

Krishan is a strategy consultant in Mumbai whose heart resides in Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from writing for Kashmir based newspapers, he has written an internationally acclaimed paper- “Next steps to peace in Kashmir”. Chairman of the ‘Rebuild JnK foundation’, he believes Indians, Pakistanis and Kashmiris can live in peace and work towards a solution for the future.

Meherangiz Davar

Meherangiz Davar is one of Mumbai's promising counselors specializing in relationship counseling. Her work also extends to the corporate field, where she counsels at Johnson & Johnson, Accenture and JPMC. She specializes in client centered therapy and transactional analysis.

Neel Madhav

Neel Madhav, a young graduate is known to scintillate his audiences with his dabble in magic. On his show, 'You Got Magic With Neel Madhav' on NDTV Goodtimes, he amazes people from all parts of the world with his tricks and acts.

Priya Tanna

Priya Tanna is the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue India and the mind behind the current Vogue Empower campaign that draws attention to women's empowerment. She has also been Editor of various publications, including DNA After Hours, Time and Style magazine. She was the youngest ever Vogue editor when she was made the editor-in-chief in 2007.

Sumit Saurav

Sumit Saurav is the co-founder and CEO of Campus Diaries, one of Asia’s biggest discovery platforms for creative talent for students and universities. Driven by the intersection of technology and human development, his vision is to create and facilitate products which help in doing the same.

Tara Sutaria

Tara Sutaria is an Indian singer, performer, and actor, and also served as the ambassador of Walt Disney India. She is trained in classical ballet, modern dance and Latin American dances. She has also been a soloist for the Stop-Gaps Choral Ensemble, singing at the NCPA in Mumbai for over a decade.

Vatsal Khandelwal

Vatsal Khandelwal is our only student speaker, currently majoring in Economics.He has discovered that his passion lies in the theoretical and practical forms of economics and has decided to make a career in this very field. He’s also an extremely talented singer and is deeply interested in Indian classical music.
