In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ahmed has had many years of experience as an Aramco project manager. He often draws upon his life experiences to look for life lessons

Chris Stillson

Born in California in 1950, Chris is an english teacher at Prince Mohammed University. He is an english literature major and has been teaching across many countries and continents.A majority of his teaching has been to people who speak english as a second language.

Edith Reyentiens

Edith has had a background in art. She has taught in Saudi Arabia and this has given her a new perspective on art.

Helen Peterson

Helen Peterson is a professor of interior design at Prince Mohammed University. Her experiences both in and out of Saudi have given her a unique perspective on life and what it has to offer.

Iain Collins

A former university boxing champion, Iain is an english teacher with an MA in TESOL from Lancaster University. Currently, he works at Prince Mohammed University (PMU).

Laurence Lewars

As a student with a very diverse ethnic background, Laurence is a true embodiment of the international nature of Dhahran High School - where he is now a junior. He is a leader in his school's Model United Nations Club as well as a member of his school's student council.

Mohamed Bialy

Born in Egypt and raised in Saudi, Mohamed Bialy is a junior at Dhahran High School, who has always been interested in public speaking. He is a member of the IB programme and an frequent participant in Model United Nations (MUN), both locally and internationally.

Sebastian Ingleton

Born in 1964 in London, Sebastian is an aircraft engineer, swim coach and a big time Liverpool supporter. He joined the RAF in 1984 and moved to Saudi in 19997. He has lived here ever since.

Thomas Rider

Thomas is a teacher at the Dhahran Elementary and Middle School in Saudi Arabia. His experience with hundreds of kids and their families, as well as his time in the military have given him a unique perspective on the long-term goals in life.

Zahra Daud

Zahra is a sophmore at Dhahran High School. Since her arrival she has made it her personal mission to speak loud and speak often on the subjects that affect her the most. She has become an advocate for women's rights as well as a speaker for happiness and success in life.
