In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Aine and Emmaleigh Doley

Aine and Emmaleigh Doley are sisters who co-created the West Rockland Street Project. This is an effort in the Germantown section of Philadelphia to revitalize one city block through community organizing and small-scale urban interventions.

George Matysik

A lifelong Philadelphian, George Matysik has dedicated his life to finding public policy solutions to the big issues that face our city and region. In addition to developing anti-poverty platforms, George has fought on the front lines of education advocacy.

Jean Gleason

Jean is a junior at the William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has worked at the Catholic Workers Free Clinic in Kensington throughout high school.

Jondhi Harrell

Jondhi has made the transformation from convicted felon to Executive Director of The Center For Returning Citizens in Germantown. His organization is expanding rapidly as they work to transition incarcerated citizens and their families back into society.

Shreyas Parab

Shreyas is a 9th grader in Delaware and a two time Scripps National Spelling Bee competitor. He has organized numerous service projects at his school and is even taking Microeconomics at a local university. He enjoys advocating for what he believes in and sharing it with others.
