TEDxCollegeofSaintBenilde is a nonprofit organization that primarily intends to spread ideas that are worth sharing and bring about meaningful conversations in Benilde and beyond. TEDxCollegeofSaintBenilde was founded in 2014.The La Sallian prayer underscores the resolve of every member of the La Sallian community to start the change and be the change. Today, many people think that the world is like a damsel in distress who needs to be rescued right away. We know for a fact that there are a lot of things that need significant transformation, but many are either waiting for someone to make a change or waiting for change to take place on its own.

TEDxCollegeofSaintBenilde’s first event will have its spotlight on the changes that we need in this world. The topic may be a cliché to some extent, but its relevance to our time and our generation remains. In the TEDxtalks, the speakers will talk about their respective fields/professions/areas of interest and how they ignite changes in their own ways. The event seeks to provide fresh perspectives on key issues and latest trends, and stage a forum where meaningful ideas from a diverse group of people are exchanged.

Phillip Pamintuan

Phillip Pamintuan’s love for dance and arts started when he was a freshman in Ateneo de Manila University. Taking up Interdisciplinary Arts with tracks in Education and Theater Arts, he found that it is in the arts that humans can truly express their humanity. He discovered that it is the body that works as both paintbrush and canvas to fully realize this innate desire to express. He started with a lot of different street dance styles but the one that resonated in him was Krump. Krump being so raw and so free. He is not limited to Street and Krump though, he believes in the variety that Dance encompasses. Broaden the vocabulary, broaden the expression. After graduating from Ateneo de Manila University, he went on to dance professionally in TV shows, concerts, major and minor gigs. He has also competed and danced internationally. It was during this time of his life that he found the need to sustain his body.

Back in 2009, he also designed a P500 bill in the wake of the former president Cory Aquino's death, which was soon adapted by the government as the bill's new design. Shifting gears, he became a Marketing Manager for menswear of The SM Store and later on was appointed as the business unit's Digital Marketing Manager. During this stint, he launched the rebranding of SM Boys Teens' Wear to its current SM Youth Lifestyle label (SM-Youth.com).
